Job Description

The Director of Tandem Applications Support is a working manager role responsible for solving complex problems that have a high impact on the business.  It is an important leadership position responsible for implementing policies as they relate to our move towards different technologies while keeping the existing technology stack functioning at a high level.  This position will also need to mold the existing team into a highly successful support organization that is flexible to handle daily changes in priorities.  Key attributes are having the ability to make quick technical decisions (even if they are not popular), working with partners to decide on priorities, and expanding the team’s ability to support new products that introduce different technologies.  Successful candidates will have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.  In addition, candidates must enjoy teaching, sharing ideas and experiences.

Responsibilities:

·        Maintenance and support of all applications/services running on the HP Nonstop Blade and X86 platforms.

·        Manage 3rd level support resources focused on Incident management for production and 2nd level Incident management for QA/Certification environments utilizing a 24x7 rotating support model.

·        Manage development resources that design, build and test enhancements to the Connex Advantage software on the HP NonStop Platform.

·        Research and implement bug fix programming changes and utilize development SME’s as appropriate.

·        Partner with 1st and 2nd level support teams to identify and implement application fixes and enhancements to increase efficiency and ease of use.

·        Work with application software development on the implementation and support of software maintenance releases.

·        Ensuring team documentation is created and/or updated as necessary.

·        Provide technical assistance to various business and technical roles within Visa DPS.

·        Serve as support representative for cross-organizational initiatives.

·        Cultivate, support and promote an organizational culture that provides for high performance, high morale, integrity and teamwork.

·        Develop relationships cross organizationally to ensure problems are resolved promptly and effectively.

·        Manage resource workloads

·        Employee performance management

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent  

Preferred Qualifications 
12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

·       12-15 years of HP Nonstop Application Development/Support experience using TAL/C/ENSCRIBE/NONSTOP SQL

·      12+ years of Payment Industry experience, specifically in Online Authorization/Switching Processing

·        3-5 years of working experience on HP Non-Stop machines (Blades or higher) utilizing Connex/Advantage application

·        Working knowledge on LINUX/JAVA/NDM/MQ/GGS/SQL MX/PATHWAY/TACL is a plus

·        Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

·        Strong people leader who thrives on teaching and mentoring

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking

·        Good communication (oral & written) skills including the ability to translate technical issues/concepts into ways for non-technical staff to understand

·        Strong business and technical process skills

·        Ability to exhibit strong multitasking and time management skills

Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements This position requires no travel for the incumbent.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
