Job Description

Principle Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

  • Managing Prepaid Products for the West Central Africa region, including product design and management, client communication and training, sales, implementation support and program management advice.
  • Prepare Training packs, Toolkits and other relevant product collaterals for Banks, customers & Government stakeholders.
  • Providing support and guidance to issuers and partners to optimize portfolio performance. 

Other Responsibilities pertaining to daily management of prepaid products:

  • Supporting Business Development staff to maintain and grow relationships with relevant stakeholders across multiple business categories
  • Ensuring achievement of product business goals/targets for volumes and P&L.
  • Accountable for regional results in prepaid category, through support of and knowledge transfer to business development staff to meet sales/volume/revenue targets.
  • Lead efforts to capitalize on the entire prepaid value chain and position Visa prepaid as a convergence point for multiple channels, platforms and product solutions.
  • Executing deployment of Infrastructure and Category Development initiatives in the region including risk management and new service deployment.
  • Identifying and implementing key enhancements to increase product profitability and cardholder satisfaction.
  • Responsible for budget management for areas under direct responsibility.
  • Working with a cross-functional team to execute annual product plans.
  • Conducting business performance analysis, identifying key product metrics and profitability drivers.
  • Providing support and guidance to issuers and partners to help them increase portfolio performance.  
  • Identify and increase opportunities to increase card penetration and distribution channels.  
  • Promote Visa's leadership in the prepaid category at industry events.

  • Contributes to the development of the prepaid strategy across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Provide prepaid leadership and management. 
  • Ensure implementation of annual prepaid goals & plans.
  • Provide leadership to managers and other professional staff on prepaid.
  • Leads prepaid projects to achieve milestones and objectives.

Decision Making & Complexity

  • Decisions impact the implementation of plans to achieve annual prepaid goals. Develop prepaid plans including business, products and organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to development of prepaid strategy and recommend prepaid improvements.
  • Operates with limited guidance in a complex environment.

Key Competencies

  • Complete understanding of prepaid products, including product value chain and product economics. Understanding of mobile commerce and money transfer solutions and their convergence with prepaid.
  • Able to demonstrate the drive and vision of an entrepreneur, building a business and identifying key trends for the future.
  • Proven consumer and/or prepaid card product management experience with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that deliver measurable business results.
  • Client facing experience required with demonstrated professional maturity and ability to inform, influence and drive the category.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with internal matrix with high level of success and achievement.
  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate innovative solutions and manage uncertainty.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

Professional

  • Professional Degree in Business Management (or similar qualifications) with significant relevant experience in a financial services company.
  • Understanding of Prepaid Cards business or related Payments Industry experience.
  • Understanding of Merchant Acquiring business.
  • Understanding of Financial Transaction processing. 

Technical

  • Expertise in Business process development/analysis is a plus.
  • Familiarity with processing platforms is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Visa Systems is a plus.

Business

  • Significant experience in banking, cards or related industry.
