This is a 10 month Fixed Term Contract position.

As commerce continues moving further towards digital-first experiences, businesses everywhere must have contemporary payment systems and processes in order to keep pace and grow.

This role is designed to help Visa and Visa Business Solutions unlock the significant growth potential in SME in Europe, with a specific focus on building new propositions

This maternity leave cover, is primarily responsible for continuing the development, delivery, and successful Go to Market for Visa’s new propositions across Europe. 

Specifically this includes:

  • Customer proposition development, in partnership with our Innovation centre
  • Development of benefits package through partnerships (content and delivery platform) 
  • Building impactful and engaging collateral – in partnership with Marketing
  • Ensuring Operational Readiness of the solution
  • Driving the Go to Market via Account Executives and sales teams
  • Supporting sales for specific engagements, to provide Subject Matter Expertise where appropriate, for the High spender proposition
  • Managing the budget, to ensure maximum returns on a sizeable investment and delivering milestones to agreed timescales and agreed KPIs
  • Ensuring the proposition is set up to successfully deliver on ambitious growth plans

Furthermore, you will specifically be asked to support Sales teams in the Central Europe cluster (Germany, Netherlands and Austria), alongside other clusters on an as needs basis, to bring relevant SME subject matter expertise to both internal and external discussions

Alongside the rest of the SME team, you will share responsibility for financials and governance for the SME products, and work to growth targets and plans.
 

  • You will understand the financials of the product set.
  • You will develop, enhance and maintain all necessary market supporting product materials, including digital materials.
  • You will be required to work proactively with the Client Engagement teams across Europe to support new issuers and new markets whilst utilising marketing and other tools to enable existing issuers to grow volumes.  As required, provide support for strategically important client business pitches
  • You will have a good understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements and ensure compliance for all initiatives

For this role the key skills required are...

  • Subject matter expert skills to external and internal stakeholders. You will have a deep understanding of the issues and challenges for small businesses, with an appreciation of European markets, that you can leverage effectively.  
  • Extensive knowledge of the SME segment, preferably gained through a service provider or Fintech working in the segment
  • Proven international payments experience and deep understanding of global payment systems.
  • The successful applicant will have extensive experience in the management and development of product/propositions, in an international payments company
  • An ability to define and deliver product-oriented growth strategies which deliver value from existing capabilities as well as define key new product or partner requirements which will accelerate growth, with the ability to deliver through partners
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting and P&Ls
  • Ability to work with a senior leadership team and build credible reputation amongst stakeholder group
  • Comfortable in working in a matrix environment and ability to work through ambiguity and change.
  • Confidence and maturity to work in a remote environment, with a high degree of self-direction and accountability with a focus on delivery
  • High orientation towards teamwork, good attitude towards cross functional working
  • Excellent relationship skills and credibility to work with internal and external senior stakeholders
  • Excellent professional conduct, by demonstrating integrity and honesty in both internal and external relationships
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
