A Go Share is a program that enables employees to develop skills and experiences by working on a project within or outside of their team. Go Shares provide employees with an opportunity to develop their skills, learn about our business, and broaden their network within Visa.

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the External Analytics team in the Data Science Lab for a period of three months on a full-time basis, working closely with external clients as well as Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) teams across Europe.

Earlier this year, our team delivered a set of Tableau dashboards to High Speed 1 (HS1), who own and operate the UK’s first section of high-speed rail linking London with the Channel Tunnel as well as the stations along the route. These dashboards provide a comprehensive overview of travellers passing through London St Pancras, including their origin and spending patterns.

The employee will be responsible for developing two complementary dashboards to inform decisions on global marketing efforts, with the aim to grow overall market share and improve the retail mix at the station.

Due to current circumstances, we will consider applications from outside the UK, with a preference for candidates in similar time zones.

• Mid-level experience solving problems with real-world data
• Strong statistical knowledge and proven expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems
• Understanding of the steps required in cleaning and transforming datasets
• Solid relational modelling (SQL) and programming skills (preferably in Python, R or Scala)
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau
