Job Description

What’s it all about?

The business travel environment is evolving, impacting how company vehicle fleets and commercial fleets are managed, the new mobility options they use like shared car fleets, the technology they adopt and finally, their payment needs.

Visa’s B2B Mobility team was established to support issuers in meeting the evolving mobility payment needs of businesses with innovative, digitised solutions.

The Senior Account Director – B2B Mobility – will lead sales acceleration for B2B Mobility across Europe, focussing on the global oil companies and their fuel card businesses. The role will be responsible for sales, business development and implementation of Visa Fleet products in the fleet, fuel & mobility ecosystems.

 

What we expect of you, day to day.

Achieve or exceed aggressive sales targets for B2B Mobility across Europe

  • Achieve annual sales goals for fuel card issuing deals, leading business development with the global oil companies

  • Drive lead-generation and prospecting activities targeting the global oil companies

  • Take clients through the sales cycle from prospecting to solution design to deal structure to contracting, ensuring client data is accurately captured in Playbook

    Manage day-to-day relationships through to implementation and launch

  • Proactive relationship management and partnering, ensuring Visa is viewed as the ‘partner of choice’ for B2B Mobility opportunities

  • Work at a senior level with a wide variety of participants in the market including the oil companies, their technology providers, acquirers, banks and Fintechs, to support the development and execution of mobility use cases

  • Work collaboratively with VBS colleagues in other regions on deals & relationship management

  • Work with Client Services to move clients through the implementation cycle, ensuring implementation projects are well-run and delivered on-time, where possible

  • Work with Finance in the cluster to ensure appropriate incentive structure, modelling and incentive deal review structure and approval process

  • Support B2B Mobility planning, reporting, collateral development & go-to-market strategy for fuel card issuers in Europe

  • Support annual client goal planning for fuel card issuers, and manage sales plans for each major oil company

  • Develop sales strategy, including opportunity identification, sales planning and supporting activities (conferences, events)

  • Work with B2B Mobility Product team and cross functional partners across the region to ensure we have what we need to be successful with our clients including the development of the go-to-market strategy, value proposition and product construct to meet client needs

  • Lead regular pipeline review and problem solving sessions with the sales teams and help problem solve when client plans are stalled

  • Be the face of Visa B2B Mobility in Europe

  • Build Visa’s market presence by attending and presenting at industry events and conferences

  • Support the B2B Mobility Product team on the creation of thought leadership that can be shared externally, PR, communication plans

  • Responsible for reporting and analytics related client pipeline & performance

For this role the key skills required are...

 

  • Senior level sales experience, working in the fuel card market, for a large oil company, either a specialist fuel card issuer, or have a detailed understanding of the oil companies business economics and models. 
  • Experience working in with Visa payment services and technology, including token and mobile services.
  • Senior level relationships with oil companies or specialist fuel card issuers that can be converted into opportunities.
  • Understanding of all elements of the current fuel card closed loop market in Europe. Appreciate the complexities of the oil companies, their pricing and sales distribution models. Understand the vehicle fleet leasing market and how this may create opportunities, the transition to EV vehicles and then mobility card concept.
  • Have credibility to negotiate and work with Clients, build effective relationships to gain the confidence of clients and have the ability to establish open and transparent relationships
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to a broad audience in an approachable way to drive adaption
  • Excellent listening and communication skills (both verbal and written), and executive presence; must be able to interface with our most senior client executives
  • Team oriented, collaborative and diplomatic with ability to influence across Visa’s matrixed structure, clients, partners and the mobility ecosystem
  • Employee will be based in a European capital city. Travel across Europe, particularly the UK, Germany, Netherlands and Poland may be required.
