Job Description

As the Diversity Recruiting Specialist, you will help drive a more diverse workforce of talent by optimizing various diversity and early career partnerships, managing our Black Scholarship & Jobs Program and supporting initiatives that build a diverse pipeline of talent that align to our University Relations & Early Career Programs strategy.  

You will work closely with University Relations Liaisons, Visa I&D, business leaders, and stakeholders to drive recruiting efforts to increase the pipeline and hiring of diverse candidates. Additionally, you will assist in educating Talent Acquisition and the business leaders on diversity trends, best practices, tools and issues to influence the organization in driving best practices throughout the organization.

You will be a part of a team serving as the face of critical, diverse, early career talent pipeline programs and requires you to possess excellent communication skills, relationship building skills, and presentation abilities.

You will report to the Director, D&I Early Career Programs who leads Inclusion & Diversity in all of Visa’s University recruiting efforts, early identification programs and candidate assessment & selection processes.

Essential Functions: 

  • Partner closely with the Director, D&I Early Career Programs to understand the goals of the organization to improve representation
  • Manage the Black Scholarship & Jobs Program, which includes but is not limited to the scholar experience, mentoring and scholar summit
  • In partnership with the University Relations Lead, establish relationships with campus career centers, student organizations and key faculty
  • Build and strengthen diversity recruiting competence within the University Recruiting team
  • Consult with University Relations Liaisons and Visa leaders on how to engage with and partner with relevant diversity organizations that can serve as pipelines of diverse talent
  • Partner with our University Marketing team on social media strategy, and with liaisons in promoting external events as well as the use of social media within those events
  • Identify and attend local and national diversity recruiting and outreach events
  • Identify, evaluate and present new recruitment sources that will generate quality and diverse applicants
  • Develop, enhance and maintain relationships with current and new diversity organizations and partnerships; manage relationships with external diversity organizations and influencers
  • Research and share analytics to inform recruitment and marketing initiatives
  • Conduct analysis, assess results and identify areas of opportunity and change and then use this data to evaluate source effectiveness, progress and process improvements

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • ·Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in University Talent Acquisition with a focus on Diversity recruitment
  • Experience in building diversity recruitment strategy and partnering with Talent Acquisition and hiring teams to execute on that strategy
  • Effectively build relationships across a variety of locations and functions and draw upon various relationships to exchange knowledge, resources and ideas
  • Attentively listen to others in a manner that invites diverse ideas and opinions and deliver communication that conveys a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize multiple demands, and identify/solve problems creatively
  • Plan and prioritize work by establishing objectives that align with business goals and project manage effectively by tracking milestones and managing schedules while adjusting with contingency plans
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, consistently demonstrating a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced, team-focused environment
  • Proven well organized, detail oriented and excellent event planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar products and in navigating social media websites to work independently within a fast-paced, team-focused environment

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
