What’s it all about?

The position is for a CAS Test Specialist with proven leadership & testing skills to work within the dynamic area of Visa Network Processing product Development and Test Engineering. The role is based within the European Network Processing Product Development team located in Basingstoke; Hampshire with some expected travel to Reading/Paddington when required

The successful applicant will be responsible for the monthly RSI/Fees QA delivery, team workload assignment; test preparation & execution including investigation and resolution of issues relating to production applications and associated procedures.

Reporting to the NP CAS Senior Test Manager, this is a ‘hands on’ senior role to lead and direct the RSI/Fees QA activities on business critical releases, and other impacting projects.

Delegating for the CAS Senior Test Manager, there is an expectation that the successful applicant will work closely with relevant management teams, project managers and the wider stakeholder community both within and outside of NP, championing testing needs and actively seeking efficiencies & improvements to the QA process.  

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • To be the SME for CAS Fees test team. Providing expert support, training and consultancy to test engineers and lead test engineers
  • Identifies process improvements, contributes to departmental testing standards and definition of best practice. 
  • Manages the stakeholder relationship with respect to all testing matters.
  • To coordinate, manage and lead the overall planning of the testing activities for multiple changes
  • To deputise in the absence of the Senior CAS Test Manager
  • Take full responsibility for the testing and acceptance activities and coordinate the execution of these activities. This will include leading and mentoring others within the team, ensuring quality and consistency of approach.
  • Engage effectively with the Project Managers on scope, impact, test schedules and delivery aspects.
  • Issue workload assignments to all team members after determining capacity
  • Report status of team progress to key stakeholders and others work against agreed schedules.
  • Manage challenging timescales and other resources to complete testing to scheduled milestone dates.
  • Ensure conformance to the SDLC methodology and quality developed by the Network Processing Product Development and Test Engineering Team.

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Proven experience in a senior lead test role delivering fully tested, complex financial systems 
  • Proven experience in defining testing approaches and deliverables and taking accountability for their successful delivery.
  • Proven experience in assigning workloads to team members & managing this work to successful delivery
  • Excellent experience of mainframe systems and knowledge of Clearing & Settlement applications
  • The ability to impart complex technical concepts and details in appropriate manner to the audience 
  • Ability to drive and implement the automation strategy for the CAS QA team
  • Delivery focused. Working with all project team members in a constructive and collaborative manner to ensure successful overall project delivery 
  • Able to work effectively on multiple concurrent assignments with both technical and business staff.
  • Decision making skills - Making decisions at the appropriate time, taking into account the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information. 
  • Flexible, self-motivated person with a high work ethic & attention to detail,
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working in Waterfall/Agile methodologies.
  • Able to work under own initiative with limited guidance from their manager
  • Able to provide accurate and timely management information to project managers and all other interested parties
  • Business knowledge of Bank Card Processing principles,
  • Experience in Continuous Integration
  • Good mentoring skills & able to provide solid guidance to colleagues
