Job Description

What we’re after…

Building Open VisaNet will involve collaboration with exceptional group of software engineers, security specialists, DevOps engineers, test automation engineers, designers, payment experts and infrastructure architects.

Open VisaNet team is seeking a Senior UX Engineer with expert capabilities in user research and the curation of engaging user experiences. This Senior UX Engineer will be responsible for the design and creation of our customer facing web/mobile applications for Open VisaNet suite of products.

The successful candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires problem-solving skills, self-direction, and innovative thinking coupled with an aptitude and affinity for team collaboration and open communication. Consistent demonstration of creativity blended with superb design, writing and presentation skills are necessary to confidently justify research and design decisions based on a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies.

Operating in a large global programme in Agile, the candidate will operate within the Admin Console tribe, working in partnership with a specialist UX Designer to support a local team of engineers in the creation and evolution of engaging user interfaces.

This role provides an ideal opportunity for a candidate who has either UX Engineering or UX Design expertise with a goal of increase engineering experience to operate in a global multi-disciplinary agile team with a desire to develop their skills using the world-class training assets available in Visa University.

  • Excellent communication skills, with examples of influencing, listening actively and negotiating within a team environment to effectively advocate for the UX Engineering discipline within the department and communicate design decisions effectively
  • Prior experience of designing rich UI/UX solutions to support complex business problems in an enterprise environment - including collaborating with stakeholders in co-creation workshops.
  • Positive attitude, friendly to others, encouraging of co-operation, honesty and respectfulness in the workplace
  • Prior experience of design principles as expressed through wireframes and prototyping with a methodical attention to detail
  • Collaborative mindset, with an ability to empathise with colleagues and establish relationships
  • Experience of at least one programming language with a good understanding of programming fundamentals (training with the use of specific languages and tools for the programme is available)
  • Knowledge of web standards and accessibility best practices desirable
