Job Description

What’s it all about?

The Development Team is at the heart of the successful execution of the Visa Payments Limited corporate strategy, responsible for developing the technology solutions for a market leading product portfolio, driving growth and profitable revenues through the success of the global sales teams.  With a keen focus on strong commercial product exposure in the payment’s domain, the team is dedicated to building a professional, proactive and market leading technology solutions adopting modern methods and practices. The goal of the team is to create and build a world class technology solution supporting a portfolio of products, adding sustainable value to the business, as part of strategically focused cross-border growth for Visa Payments Limited

 

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Driving implementation of corporate IT Management initiatives aligned to Projects
  • Collaborating with the IT Management community and Project Management counterparts on the project team (architects, developers, engineers, business analyst, network planners, strategists) to ensure IT solutions technical details that feed into the overall requirements for the project are clearly determined
  • Collaborate with the Delivery and Development Teams during build to ensure the solution meets business needs.
  • Work with business unit stakeholders to support implementation, including support for User Acceptance Testing, Training and Business Process documentation.
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Host meetings, workshops, training sessions and showcases at all levels of the hierarchy.
  • Support the Product Team enablement in Earthport through process development, training and ownership.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested relating to the successful design, delivery and sustainability of a proposed solution.

 

Qualifications

 For this role, the key skills required are:

  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
  • Extensive leadership experience of delivering Project and Portfolio Management solutions
  • Strong experience of SAP ERP
  • Strong Experience of RESTful APIs, SOAP, Webservices and Message based integrations
  • Practical knowledge of Agile methodology and proven implementation.
  • Successful track record of working with cross-functional on and off-shore large scale teams is essential
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence is highly desirable.
  • Deep interest in financial services with commercial experience and first-class technical and collaboration skills including familiarity with ISO20022.

 

Professional and Personal Skills:

  • Solution Architecture, knowledge of AMQP and JMS protocols.
  • Designing IT Solutions at a senior level, leading Architectural and Design activities for projects and programmes with traditional client server and cloud-based applications.
  • Supporting project teams during the sourcing, design and implementation of IT solutions.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Managing complex requirements and landscapes with multiple stakeholders, CI and CD pipeline to a continuous delivery environment.
  • Working on integration designs and considerations Strong Non-functional requirement understanding and exposure.
  • Is results orientated, continues to work toward achievement of goals in the face of obstacles readily integrating changes into work processes and outputs.
  • Ensuring close attention to detail is maintained across all teams in all areas of work: design, documentation, coding, testing, and following agreed processes.
  • Effective prioritisation and multi-tasking - able to prioritise quickly and effectively. Maintains a can-do attitude.
  • Successful under pressure and naturally curious to solve problems, explore new techniques and technologies.
  • Able to work and manage development teams that are geographically dispersed and across time zones.

 

Communication:

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, helpful and supportive of others - works effectively with other people in the team and wider organisation, including senior management and the Executive team.
  •  Has an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority using a collaborative approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
