Job Description

Team Summary:

The Global Pricing Strategy team at Visa is responsible for managing Visa’s pricing for network and value added services on a global basis.

What a Senior Director in Pricing Strategy does at Visa:

This is a key new leadership position which will be responsible for leading Asia Pacific pricing strategy as well as building a team of experts in region. The role will be responsible for developing and driving new pricing opportunities across the AP region, including both pan regional and country specific changes. The remit will cover both core fee changes as well as support for product and value added service pricing strategy development and execution.

Global Pricing Strategy is responsible for managing pricing with the objective of driving growth, adoption and revenue growth for Visa’s network and value added services globally.  Pricing is a critical lever in driving these objectives and is central to Visa’s business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of pricing strategies for AP region considering value-provided, differentiation of the product/service, sustainability, and the competitive environment
  • Coordinates with global and regional peers on global pricing initiatives
  • Collaborate with functional groups in evaluating and optimizing pricing for AP region, including forecasting and business case, rate structure design, stakeholder impact assessment, implementation considerations, and key partner communication
  • Identify new revenue models and enhance existing revenue models to optimize net revenue growth
  • Gather competitive market intelligence, perform comparison of pricing relative to alternative options, and analyze revenue impact to any rate changes as a result of data obtained
  • Oversee pricing system development work, and management of operational and compliance issues related to pricing that arise within AP
  • Contribute input to the regional country, product and merchant sales and solution strategies to support Visa’s corporate strategies and priorities
  • Educate clients and internal stakeholders on Visa´s pricing strategy
  • Eventually manage a team of business professionals supporting these responsibilities

Qualifications

You will need:

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, ideally with a background in consulting/strategy coupled with operational experience.  This person will be recognized as a leader by peers and executive management, will think strategically and holistically about the business, be capable of identifying and resolving issues, and excel at quickly grasping and clearly communicating complex topics. The position requires close collaboration with regional country management, finance, legal, government relations, product, and client teams. Specific qualifications include:

  • Thorough understanding of electronic payment system business, value flows, and competitive dynamics
  • General familiarity with regulatory environment in Visa Inc. countries
  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing pricing constructs
  • Experienced, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of results and with the ability to work and influence multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to develop internal and external networks to identify areas of opportunity and build partnerships in executing against corporate goals
  • Strong thought leadership, analytical skills and the ability to solve a range of business problems, and quickly arrive at recommendations that drive corporate priorities.
  • Excel in a complex and often ambiguous environment, to build rigorous, fact-base recommendations in support of executive decisions
  • Experience managing complex financial models and analytics to support recommendations
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Strong personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages at the executive level, internal and external
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Experience managing, developing and leading employees
  • Commitment to continuous training
