Job Description

This position will be responsible for leading the business Product Management function responsible for Visa's Bill Presentment and Payment (VBPP) platform within the Visa’s Product - Buyer & Seller Solutions organization.

We are seeking a Director, Product Management Bill Pay who can help drive critical growth initiatives in a complex, matrix environment.  The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, structured, analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in how products are developed and delivered.  S/he enjoys variety and collaborating with people.  S/he is thoughtful, curious and analytical with a desire to make an impact.

The Director, Product Management will lead key work streams for the launch and on-going development of the VBPP platform. The Product Manager will work across various product teams such as Innovation, Real Time Payments, Merchant Sales & Acquiring, Account Executive teams and Visa Business Solutions (VBS). This role is also externally facing with partners such as processors, billers, and issuer clients.

The following are key functions:

-       Product Management & Development: Lead key product management and development functions including defining the product roadmap (i.e. Roadmunk), drafting epochs & user stories (i.e. Jira), addressing questions from the product development team (i.e. Agile, daily stand-ups), compiling acceptance criteria and conducting user acceptance testing. 

-       Client Solution Management / Go-to-market: Support the development and execution of go-to-market plans and materials in order to recruit billers, Billing Service Providers (BSPs), financial institutions and other partners to participate in the Proof of Concept and Pilot programs. Capture partner feedback and provide insights to product and solution managers in order to include these points in the VBPP product roadmap and business specifications.  

-       Innovation Session Support: Support innovation sessions by drafting agenda and pre-work materials and facilitating post-session follow up meetings and actions.

This role requires engaging with cross-functional stakeholder, partners and clients to solicit requirements incorporate feedback and present program results, as well as engaging with the product development team to manage the development and deployment of products.

JOB SCOPE:

  • Work cross-functionally with various teams across Visa to scope, document and implement the successful launch of the VBPP platform, and work on executing subsequent iterations of the Platform
  • Maintain high-quality product roadmap, epochs and user stories
  • Support the development go-to-market plans and promotional materials
  • Provide status, action plan and recommendations to senior leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Manage and grow the required analytics capabilities to track the performance of the VBPP platform, using tools and dashboards i.e. Roadmunk, to build actionable insights
  • Work closely with other Product line Owners, Solution delivery , Marketing, Sales, customers, partners and Engineering teams to define and develop detailed product/ business requirements
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing and ensure requirements were understood and implemented as requested
  • Evaluate new product opportunities and bring forward proposals for products to expand the value added services product line
  • Influence product and technology strategy and direction (roadmap), and product and user experience
  • Define and implement strategy for the development and distribution of reports for key external partners including merchants and strategic partners
  • Actively prioritize product back-log , pre planning, prioritization and user story mapping sessions

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 15+ or more years of work experience
  • 10+ years of product management experience especially related to new product development with the follow skills: agile development, persona, use cases, requirements, etc.
  • Lead the launch of a new product with commercial success
  • Strong analytical skills with experience conducting market research, building pro-forma financial models, developing hypotheses based on unstructured data, validate the hypothesis and provide a recommendation.
  • Deep understanding of payment systems (card networks, ACH, RTP, digital wallets)
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills and technical aptitude
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way
  • Excellent communication and group presentation skills 
  • Executive presence; and, comfortable presenting with the C-suite
  • Detail oriented and highly execution focused by working in conjunction with various counterparts across multiple functional groups
  • Ability to quickly learn about the internal Visa systems and how it all works together
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and drive results, ensuring that timelines are adhered to and any risks to the project are called out early
  • Embrace change and ambiguity in an ecosystem that is rapidly evolving
  • 5+ year of global experience in the payments industry e.g. Payments processing and innovations in developed and emerging markets

Work Hours:

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10-20% of the time.

Physical Requirements: ​​​​​​

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
