Job Description

Visa is looking for an accomplished Senior Product Manager to manage client engagements with Issuers/Financial Institutions, develop products for this segment, and accelerate adoption of our services across multiple markets.

Given we are a relatively new product and have a ‘start-up’ mentality - you will own a wide breadth of responsibilities which include B2B product marketing, joint solutioning with clients, developing new features, setting product prioritizations, and guiding client launches.  It is a cross-functional job, collaborating closely with Regional teams, Technology, Marketing, Legal and Client Services.  Overall, you will determine and build the right solutions that scale, solve for critical client needs, and manage large-scale launches. 

You should be a self-starter that can balance strategy with day-to-day running the business aspects, highly organized, and able to seamlessly prioritize a dynamic workload.

 

Responsibilities

Client enablement

  • Interact directly with clients and executive leadership to evangelize product solutions.  Enable sales with compelling presentations that illustrate product benefits, business impact, and customer value. Work with Marketing team for content creation.
  • Drive GTM strategy in partnership with Regional teams e.g. identifying prospects, managing  the overall pipeline, and planning for product launches per country.
  • Support client engagements and solutioning workshops.  Entails technical deep-dives, advising clients on how they can optimally design their program, and fielding product questions.
  • Oversee product execution all the way through to implementation and end-consumer adoption/usage.


Product solutioning

  • Take client requirements or friction points and solution against them—come up with enhancements that can be built effectively and efficiently to address pain points.  Define solutions with executable business requirements and user stories, working with Product/Technology partners per release cycle.
  • Own a larger feature or service—includes framing how it ladders up to broader Installments strategy, researching feasibility (e.g. legal/risk watch-outs), assessing GTM implications and product dependencies, and determining core technical requirements.
  • Make strong business cases for features/enhancements, and be comfortable debating the rationale—not only for the Installments team’s internal roadmap, but other Visa product roadmaps or client roadmaps.

Qualifications

BASIC Qualifications:

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

PREFERRED Qualifications: 

  •  5-7 years of work experience or 3-5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

  • Background in payments or financial services

  • Experience in product marketing and launching new products a plus.  Or experience in product management with scaling a product.

  • Consulting or strategy experience that involved external engagements.  High comfort level and poise in client meetings

  • Proven leadership capabilities including effective decision-making, sharing well-articulated views, and driving tangible results. Track record of developing and executing a vision for successful products based on deep understanding of customer needs.

  • Analytical background and ability to frame complex or abstract concepts in a clear, cohesive framework.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on client success. Comfortable making decisions with limited data, structuring abstract problem statements and defining solution path for execution

  • Excellent communication skills—ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

  • Project management instincts—role requires multiple workstreams and a bias toward action

Work Hours

  • This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours

  • This role at times requires off-hours responsiveness (for example when the executive is in a different time zone)

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work up to 20% of the time

Physical Requirements

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
