Team Summary

The Product & Solutions organization at Visa has overall business responsibility for introducing new products to clients, driving product adoption and growing product usage.

What a Senior Manager, Product Development does at Visa:

The Senior Manager, Product Development – Mainland China will serve as the product subject matter expert for Mainland China businesses. The Senior Manager will be expected to champion existing Visa product assets and implement the localized product to cope with local requirements, while partnering with other business units like client service and domestic processing etc..

This position has overall responsibility for managing specific products and systems for Mainland China. Responsibilities include - provide strategic support to business teams for development of the local product; stay abreast of product enhancements, and industry and technology trends to be able to support Visa strategic goals and client initiatives; act as Subject Matter Expert and liaise with global and regional product leads to manage the product lifecycle etc.
    
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Processing and New Product Development in Mainland China, will be expected to interact effectively with all levels of Visa, clients and local partners. This position will involve frequent interaction and communication with key Visa stakeholders, including acquirers, issuers, vendor and external processor partner.

The position will be based in Visa’s Shanghai office in China.

Projects you will be a part of:

Lead the development and evolution of Visa’s dispute product strategy as a critical member of the China market entry workstreams and be involved in Mainland China domestic processing project.

Develop and manage dispute product to drive relevance and adoption for Mainland China, working across cross-functional teams including CRM, MS&A, Client Services and Technology.

Engage in a broad range of solution development with external processing partners, domestic switches, and technology partners, etc. to expand Visa product for meeting regulatory requirements in Mainland China.

Be the “go to” person for dispute product solutions for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

What you will need:

•    6+ years experience in the Card or payments industry with concentration in product development, preferred to have payment dispute experience.
•    Must be a self-starter with proven abilities in quick-learning, organizational, conceptual, and logical problem solving.
•    Client focus with proven ability to establish productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
•    Ability to work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to stakeholders and to juggle multiple initiatives at once.
•    Leading in an international working environment. Demonstrated ability to work with large, cross-functional (e.g. Client Service, Technology, Sales, Finance etc) and cross-regional teams.
•    Good interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across global, regional and Mainland China functional lines.
•    Advanced Mandarin and English language capability.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Science or a similar field. Advanced degree is a plus.

What will also help:

•    Knowledge or familiarity with the Mainland China payment and digital landscape.
•    Knowledge or familiarity with VisaNet, Visa Rules and VROL.
•    Experience in driving initiatives or products from scratch.
•    Ability to build relationships with issuer and acquirer processors in Mainland China market.

Additional Information

Working Hours: Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours. May require occasional meetings outside of core business hours to connect with global partners and clients.
