Job Description

We are looking for Database Engineer well versed in Oracle PL/SQL programming to scale and perform on very large database environment. One should work independently and have expertise in data modeling, database design, develop write efficient code, unit test and implement. One should be able to multitask on multiple projects to support application developers. One should have the ability to troubleshoot production issues in timely manner. One should be willing to work on other databases as need arises. One should have good communication skills.

Essential Functions: 

  • Development experience in PL/SQL code for Oracle Database.
  • Experience in relational data modeling
  • Design and develop database code in Oracle Database utilizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, queries etc.
  • Proficient in performance tuning.
  • Expert level development knowledge in Oracle Database
  • Work in a collaborative environment that includes business teams and application team and database administrators
  • Experience in payment industry is a plus.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD
  • 8+  years of development experience in PL/SQL code for Oracle Database.
  • Experience in relational data modeling
  • Design and develop database code in Oracle Database utilizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, queries etc.
  • Proficient in performance tuning.
  • Expert level development knowledge in Oracle Database

Additional Information

Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
