Job Description

Site Security Manager (Ashburn, VA) – Global Security & Safety (GSS) is responsible for the physical security and safety of the Visa Ashburn Data Center. Reporting to the GSS Regional Security Director, the candidate will coordinate and manage all security matters for the Ashburn campus to include physical security, systems security and safety activities outlined in Visa’s Global Security Policies. The Site Security Manager will work closely with other GSS team members, along with support departments that include Facilities, Human Resources, Business Continuity and the local site lead.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage Visa’s contracted guard force and other third party vendor’s daily activities to ensure proper security coverage for all shifts and buildings while maintaining proper customer service standards.

  • Establish and maintain local policies and procedures to Visa GSS standards and Virginia law.

  • Manage Visa Ashburn’s security and safety budget to acceptable yearly-established standards.

  • Liaise with internal Visa departments, which include Facilities, Human Resources, Business Continuity and Crisis Management to ensure security and safety matters are properly addressed.

  • Lead or assist with investigations in matters that relate to the security and safety of Visa property or personnel as requested by GSS leadership or local site leadership.

  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with Visa Ashburn’s site leadership team to address ongoing issues or future concerns from department heads.

  • Lead or participate in corporate or third party audits of Visa facilities.

  • Monitor, maintain and ticket Visa’s security systems technology to include badge readers, cameras, alarms and coordinate proper responses through Visa’s GSOC.

  • Create or review security incident reports in a timely manner as established by Visa GSS policy. Additional weekly, monthly or yearly reports are required by GSS policy.

  • Ensure compliance with GSS HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) requirements.

  • Participate in and ensure proper training and response regarding emergency incidents on site.

  • Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services and homeland security personnel in an effort to maintain a positive relationship and information networks.

  • Data Center

  • Working knowledge of data center operations.

  • Working knowledge of RAZ and SAZ areas.

  • Experience with security procedures within a data center environment.

  • Experience with data center security audits to include cameras, badge readers and alarms.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role or supervisor capacity within a security or law enforcement organization.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

  • Ability to interact effectively with senior leadership

  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively while managing a security department.

  • CPR/First Aid certified or immediately certifiable.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and SharePoint

  • Working knowledge of VMS and access control systems to include Genetec and C-Cure.

  • Industry certifications and memberships to include the PSP, CPP or equivalent through ASIS, ATAP, DSAC.

  • Experience within a large security organization as a supervisor or above.

  • Security experience within a data center environment.

Additional Information

Work Hours:

  • This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.  Able to work and take calls days, evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires less than 10% travel from their work location.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • This position will be performed in an office/data center setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds
