Visa in the Netherlands

Visa in the Netherlands forms an important country in the Central Europe (CE) cluster (Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and Lichtenstein).  Netherlands is among the Top 15 largest economies in Europe and represents a significant growth opportunity for Visa. V PAY/Visa Debit, Contactless and e/m-commerce have reached a real turning point in the Dutch payment industry, heavily dominated by debit. This will be a key driver for further growth and is imperative to win further share in the market, especially with the Launch of Visa Debit in the market.

By driving consumer and merchant preference for Visa’s products and services, Visa is transforming the way in which it goes to market.  Furthermore, the company is investing in innovation and marketing initiatives to elevate Visa’s position in the payments ecosystem to champion Visa to be everywhere you want to be.

What's it all about?

The Group AE is responsible for the overall rollout and coordination of the Group Client partnership program for issuing and acquiring projects. It also includes initiatives and follow ups on actions from the Global Framework Agreement between Group Client and Visa.

What we expect, day to day:

  • Works closely together with the client team and the Group Account Lead. Take an active role in the Group Clients team and strengthen the team in an agile mode and have a thorough understanding of the client strategy. Work on the annual strategic business/account plans for the client, in alignment with the Group Client lead to grow and optimize Visa’s product/portfolio and services with the client.

  • Prepare briefings for senior management who engage with the client and prepare working groups, consisting of an international team of the client and of Visa, to determine the value in kind projects in line with the client strategy. Additionally you will prepare the steering committees to receive endorsement on the client annual plan.

  • Maintain an overview of the Value in Kind (VIK) projects and monitor the VIK program on funds spend and progress of the various projects within the program. Manage the product portfolio and services for this client on a day to day basis, ensuring client is provided with appropriate support from Visa.

  • Works with the client to identify new and ongoing requirements and actively and commercially stimulating them to innovate, introducing new products and services as appropriate. Engage with colleagues across Visa, ensuring teams such as product, innovation, marketing, and consulting are appropriately involved and informed about their client needs, in a matrix environment.

  • Expected to consultatively sell and advice this knowledge to the assigned key client


What we're after..

  • Extensive previous experience in Sales, project management and consulting roles

  • Knowledge and experience of the digital environment, payments business and/or financial services. Commercial understanding, the ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions

  • Broad knowledge about Visa and its products and services

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels within the client business. Able to work in an international environment with key stakeholders in multiple regions. Agile team player, flexible approach and a curiosity to learn

  • Excellent in writing and presenting skills (Dutch and English). Ideally experienced in working with PowerPoint and Data sources to share insights with the clients.

  • Is able and willing to work together on multiple strategic topics at the client at the same time within the issuing and acquiring space.  Is able to drive and manage multi-disciplinary Visa teams, answering the needs and driving actively to achieve solutions to challenges of its clients
