Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Analyst to join our Product Reliability Engineering Team. Responsibilities will include managing and maintaining mission critical 24*7 applications. You'll be working in a face-paced environment and will be a liaison between the Product Office and Product Development. You will also be working closely with infrastructure, security and other teams as required.

Essential Functions

  • Provide application support for applications and services at Visa.
  • Participate in Change, Incident and Problem management activities according to Visa guidelines.
  • Monitor incident queues, troubleshoot issues and lead conference calls with other groups to mitigate impact to Visa services.
  • Determine root cause of issues and document it in the appropriate system.
  • Perform project management tasks for Information Technology initiatives.
  • Facilitate and attend meetings for business and Information Technology initiatives.
  • Write and maintain scripts and programs to achieve Information Technology objectives.
  • Participate in on call rotation as assigned by manager.
  • Provide 24/7 application support as needed and work with offshore teams to facilitate around the clock support for applications and services.
  • Train members of the application support team.
  • Lead projects for Information Technology initiatives.
  • Communicate accurate and useful status reports on a timely basis.

 

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    • 2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
    • 1 or more years of work experience with Linux and/or Windows operating system.
    • 1 or more years of work experience writing scripts in BASH, PYTHON, Windows Shell or PowerShell or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualification

    • 1 or more years of work experience with application support for critical applications.
    • 1 or more years of work experience using change, incident and problem management software such as Service Now, Remedy or equivalent.
    • 1 or more years of work experience planning, deploying and reviewing changes for critical applications.
    • 1 or more years of work experience troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
    • 1 or more years of work experience conducting root cause analysis.
    • 1 or more years of work experience leading or participating in projects for IT initiatives.
    • 1 or more years of work experience facilitating meetings for IT initiatives.
    • 1 or more years of work experience supporting Java applications that run in Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, Docker or similar containers.
    • 1 or more years of work experience with database management systems such as relational and NoSQL/Document oriented databases.
    • 1 or more years of work experience with networking concepts and protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, PKI, SSL, TLS, Digital Certificates, Security Scanning or equivalent.
    • 1 or more years of work experience with web services such as SOAP, REST or equivalent and web service testing tools such as soapUI, Postman or equivalent.
    • 1 or more years of work experience with external application monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, ThousandEyes or equivalent.
    • 1 or more years of work experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk or equivalent.
    • 1 or more years of work experience supporting distributed systems or microservices.
    • 1 or more years of work experience supporting applications running in Kubernetes or other container based systems.
    • 1 or more years of work experience with Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD) systems such as Jenkins, Ansible or equivalent.
