Job Description

Visa’s Third Party Risk Management team is seeking a Sr. Consultant to lead the Asia Pacific (AP) Region third party risk management program. This includes managing the risk assessment and due diligence processes, both at on-boarding and throughout the lifecycle as part of Visa’s Third Party Risk Management Program (TPRMP). The ideal candidate will be process driven, an excellent communicator and able to develop approaches that scale. Building influence in cross-functional partnerships and developing stakeholder relationships across the organization is an essential part of this role. 

The Sr. Consultant is expected to ensure all aspects of the assigned functions adhere to the Third Party Risk Management Policy and Procedures. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Third Party Risk Management for AP, CEMEA, and Europe Regions, based in Foster City, who provides leadership, guidance and training to staff. This role is based in Singapore.

In this role, you are expected to:

  • Lead the AP Region’s third party risk strategy, ensuring internal teams have resources and processes to support their needs for due diligence, risk assessment and ongoing monitoring, ensuring inherent risks and control gaps are accurately identified and remediated
  • Proactively engage on opportunities to work with the business to educate stakeholders on the Third Party Risk Management program
  • Responsible for compiling global monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc dashboard and reporting for management
  • Influences others within job sub-function regarding practices, procedures, and policies
  • Lead risk related contract provision reviews on third party agreements to ensure contracts reflect governing risk obligations are included
  • Identify market, category-specific needs and business partner requirements, and provide realistic solutions to improve procurement experience
  • Effectively partner with Sourcing leads and Business Partners on key sourcing needs while providing training, strategic support and recommendations to advance procurement initiatives and processes
  • Lead complex projects and meetings, deliver presentations and comfortably interact with all levels of Visa management including Finance and Global Risk senior management
  • Ensure Third Party Risk Management policy and procedures, and Visa Supplier Manager tool capabilities are implemented according to approved goals and policy
  • Coordinate with risk stakeholders across the organization to understand compliance requirements
  • Develop detailed procedural documents, trainings and communications
  • Represent Third Party Risk in Sourcing, Risk or Visa-wide working groups and committees
  • Ensure constant alignment of Third Party Risk Management Program with regulatory requirements including FFIEC, OCC and other applicable regulations
  • Actively identify, prioritize and pursue opportunities to enhance Visa’s third party risk management processes and introduce innovative approaches and solutions to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Problems are mostly defined and moderately complex
  • Influences others within job sub-function regarding practices, procedures, and policies

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced individual with a curiosity about payments and Fintech, who is results-driven, and client focused. As a candidate you should have:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 6 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD degree
  • May help coordinate projects, delegate tasks, and review others' work product for projects within job area
  • Solid understanding of Anti-Bribery, Information Security, Business Continuity, Physical Security, Records Management, Call Center, Reputational and Financial risks
  • Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions
  • Strong understanding of the inherent risks associated with engaging suppliers to perform services and support projects/initiatives
  • Equally effective managing projects and conducting data-driven analysis
  • Extraordinary data analysis and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual & analytical rigor; ability to summarize raw data to tell a simple story supported by data to management and stakeholders
  • Responsible for compiling monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc dashboard and reporting for management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise and impactful way – turning research and raw data into hard numbers into compelling stories and useful strategic insights to a variety of stakeholders
  • Seasoned professional individual contributor
  • Works independently under limited supervision
  • May coach and review the work of lower level professionals
  • Strong attention to detail and achieving results, with an emphasis on how work is being accomplished

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience working with supplier or vendor assessment frameworks, information security and/or operational risk programs within the payment industry
  • Excel power user a plus
  • Professional accreditation in risk management a plus Proficiency in Financial Systems (Ariba, Aravo, Oracle, Coupa, IBM) a plus
