Job Description

Director HR Shared Services, based in Austin, will be responsible for leading the HR Shared Services front and back office operations for the Americas (US, Canada & Latin America). This role will focus on building a culture of continuous improvement ensuring efficient, and consistent employee experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Front & back office operations: Front Office includes responding to all employee HR questions, supporting all HR program launch, delivering on employment letters, providing consultation on maternity, paternity, other types of leaves, accommodations and all other employees facing tasks and activities. Back office includes managing benefits & severance administration, vendor billing, payroll and benefits reports, records mgmt., and I-9 administration.

Leadership: Responsible for building an inclusive culture within the organization. Leveraging effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning to build an engaged, diverse, high performing team.

Execution Metrics (Focus on being a metrics driven organization): Accountable for the day to day performance metrics, ensuring clear SLA's and KPI's align to effective and positive employee experience. Utilize metrics to demonstrate and communicate Shared Services value and have the ability to create and share reports/metrics/Dashboards that are meaningful to stakeholders.

Training & documentation: Responsible for ongoing training, and documentation for all processes and activities within the scope of work.

Quality Control Efforts: Delivering on an internal quality assurance program leveraging key metrics that helps measure performance against SLA’s, volumes, customer satisfaction & quality.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications: Build a strong working relationships with HR leaders. Develop and implement communications strategy with HR partners to get alignment on cross-functional projects and increase customer service satisfaction.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or a  post graduate degree in related fields
  • At least 8 to 10 years' experience working in within HR Operations / HR Shared Services, with proven capability to lead, develop and motivate a team
  • An understanding of operational excellence within HR Shared Services processes & practice
  • Knowledge of HR functions, policies and practices
  • Proven ability to standardize/re-engineer HR processes that can help build scale
  • Ability to manage high workloads & conflicting priorities
  • Collaborative style and a good team player with a strong customer focus mind-set that focusses on employee experience and continuous improvement for all processes.
  • Proven track record of managing the partnerships with COEs  
  • Experience with successfully transitioning work to HR Shared Services
  • Preferred HRIS, Workday and Case Management experience
  • Applies business design skills across commercial functions of HR
  • Experience developing metrics (e.g. balanced scorecard) and setting targets using engaging presentation methods and tools
  • Influencing skills with the ability to easily connect with leadership across regions
  • Able to drive consensus among key stakeholders with diverse needs and interests
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects in a fast paced environment, adapting to shifting priorities
  • Strong communicator who can  deliver impactful presentations to leadership
  • Exposure to digital automation tools such as RPA, cognitive, machine learning, AI, etc
