Job Description

Senior Manager of Marketing Analytics is part of the Global Analytics and Insights team and is responsible for measuring the ROI of Visa marketing campaigns and delivering actionable insights to improve marketing outcomes and effectiveness. We apply analytic and statistical techniques to measure the impact of marketing on business outcomes, determine what worked well and less well, predict potential outcomes, and advise on optimizing strategy and tactics to drive maximum impact and ROI. Our toolkit spans a range of approaches and methodologies, from query-based descriptive statistics, to test design, and advanced modeling techniques. You will join a team of highly skilled statistical modeling experts with solid business experience and technical knowledge in applying advanced marketing analytics to measure, predict, and optimize the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. While this is an individual contributor role it requires cross-functional interaction with multiple colleagues and stakeholders, internally and externally.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will collaborate with internal and external partners to scope and manage end-to-end global analytical projects which will quantify the in-market performance of media campaigns and will provide insights.
  • Proactively communicate with marketing teams and agency partners to fully understand campaign executions, measurement requirements and potential implications of analytical findings. Provide thought leadership to establish measurement frameworks which will drive business growth based on actionable recommendations.
  •  Leverage our existing data management process and modeling platform to update marketing mix econometric models to estimate effectiveness and ROI, at the campaign and media channel level. The Senior Manager will own the entire process from data collection, validation, model estimation, and insights generation.
  • You will drive marketing initiative success by applying learnings and insights from historical data to forecast and optimize the performance of marketing and media plans. Participate in the annual marketing budget planning by running different spend allocation and optimization scenarios using our existing simulation and optimization platform.
  • You will design learning plan agendas to test and learn on critical business questions. This should be achieved by partnering with regional marketing and media teams at the initiative design phase to define the learning needs, quantify the potential uplift and influence them to design the most optimal media plan to achieve business objectives. 
  • Actively participate in process improvement and meta-learnings initiatives of our global program.
  • You will present analytic insights and recommendations effectively to drive actionability.
  • Build strong working relationships and rapport to ensure smooth multi-directional collaboration with all stakeholders involved.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 5 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.·      

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field like Economics/Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • 7+ years of hands on marketing analytics experience in a professional environment or 5+ years with advanced degree.
  • Highly proficient in the application of econometric and statistical modeling techniques such as linear and non-linear multivariate regression to inform business decisions.
  • Hands on experience in data processing, visualization, and analysis in Excel and SAS environment or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in media planning and ROI/Effectiveness based optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate analyses and findings to senior management and to translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations.
  •  Experience sharing analytical insights and their business implications with various technical and non-technical audiences in the form of PowerPoint reports and dashboards.
  • Excellent time and project management skills as well as motivation to succeed in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Experience in effective vendor management in the context of analytic projects.
  • Expertise with applied Bayesian regression and as many as possible of the following: SAS / R / Hadoop / SQL / Tableau or equivalent.
  •  3+ years of experience in Media Analytics for the payments industry

  • This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
