Job Description

As part of the Global Product organization, the Data Products team is looking for a Director, Data Products that is passionate about innovating and delivering differentiated data solutions across the Visa payment network. This person will be responsible working with the technology, product, operations and global stakeholders for application development of a product portfolio.

This is a matrixed, cross functional role so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical, as we interface with other specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant sales, client consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing and corporate communications, to coordinate the build, launch and support of new and existing products.

Technical Leader will be Responsible for:

  • Lead the design, development and delivery of multiple simultaneous application development
  • Build the "story board" for the final output of projects, appropriate to the target audience with the requisite shareholder, customer and Visa return metrics
  • Work with business development team, other VISA Consultancy and Analytics team members and cross functionally to add business context and tailor the final deliverable to reflect the nuances of the client’s business
  • Define and create strategic, repeatable offerings which address the business needs of multiple clients and that are accretive to Visa intellectual property
  • Fine tune Hadoop applications for high-performance and throughput. Troubleshoot and debug any Hadoop ecosystem runtime issues
  • Hands on experience in configuring, and using Hadoop ecosystem components like Hadoop MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Hive, Sqoop, Spark, Pig, Oozie, Zookeeper and Flume
  • In-depth understanding of Data Structure and Algorithms.
  • Experience in managing and reviewing Hadoop logfiles.
  • Drive cross-line of business support to ensure knowledge sharing
  • Build merchant solutions knowledge repository to ensure repeatability of key solutions, and improve efficient delivery of information assets
  • Build project work plans and manage cross-functional projects teams to complete all activities; collaborate very closely with delivery resources on work planning and delivery
  • Hold responsibility for ensuring that the team delivers on time and budget, and that outputs exceed quality expectations, provide actionable recommendations, are laser-focused on adding value, and are highly-valued by clients
  • Research industry metrics and business context and bring this context to bear in adding value to outputs

Qualifications

Professional

  • 10+ years in a data-driven strategy role preferably in BFSI domain
  • Masters or above in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research and Management or Engineering  
  • People management responsibility
  • Provide guidance to team members. Review and evaluate incidents/releases worked by members to ensure adherence to SLAs and improve overall availability of applications
  • Project planning, management and supervisory experience – proven track record delivering multiple complex projects on time and on budget
  • Team oriented, goals oriented, and flexible with proven track record in collaborating with multiple stakeholders and driving results, specially via influence management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications skills - capable of developing well-structured communications and presentations
  • Must be team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship development
  • Quick learner

Technical

  • Very strong project management skills and experience, preferably with a bottom-line orientation
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience with Hadoop framework components (HDFS, HBase, Sqoop, Hive, Spark, Scala, Presto, Oozie)
  • Strong programming skills on Scala to work on Spark
  • In-depth understanding of Data Structure and Algorithms
  • Establish standards for the design, architecture and scalable disaster recovery plans across multiple applications and services
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Experience presenting technical ideas, concepts and analysis to stakeholders

Business
