Job Description

Visa is looking for an analytical finance professional to join our Cybersource Finance team. The Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate across product and technology to develop financial strategies and drive analytics to enable business decision making. They will drive forecasting and budgeting processes for Card Present and provide detailed monthly reports and analysis directly to Business Leaders. The position will involve delivering insights to senior leaders and require expert-level analysis and insight skills to deliver clear and measurable impact to the business. The ideal candidate will have a deep background in financial and accounting, preferably with a public company, and demonstrated experience managing complex finance processes and experience engaging with business partners.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Planning and Analytics:

  • Become a trusted business partner to all business units and executive management
  • Partner with business stakeholders to create business cases; structure and execute complex financial modeling and analysis
  • Identify and implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operational decision making

Financial Management:

  • Lead preparation of the annual business plan and analysis
  • Interpret and present key findings directly to senior leaders
  • Enable management by providing timely and accurate information
  • Understand business drivers and recommend measures to further improve results
  • Establish efficient processes for quarterly and monthly performance reporting

Project Management:

  • Spearhead ad hoc projects to further improve the overall performance of the team and organization(s)
  • Decision support to senior finance leadership on investment / project decisions
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance over core processes building efficiencies and streamlining deliverables for optimal result

Business Engagement:

  • Integration of finance into the business; attend team meetings/develop understanding of the business
  • Prepare and develop tailored, effective presentations, analysis and dialogue with each business partner
  • Timely, meaningful views on their business
  • Dialogue around budget and spend to optimize budget and investments; return-on-investment discipline

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Superior analytical, project management, and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze financial modeling
  • Advanced proficiency in Financial modelling in Microsoft Excel and in building presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint are required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 +years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA,  JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles
  • Can convert complex analyses into revealing business storylines  
  • Operates with minimal supervision and able to make informed, well-reasoned decisions independently using strong business judgement
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with ability to communicate effectively with executive management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with other functional areas to understand the operational and cultural issues relevant to achieving superior results
  • Client focused with tenacity to resolve issues and conflicts
  • Able to work in a dual-reporting matrix environment
