Job Description

- This role is with the Interchange team that is part of our Pricing Strategy group.  Specifically as a Pricing Analyst, Global Interchange will support all geographies in evaluating interchange rate changes, supporting new products, and developing custom merchant rates with a primary focus on Europe and global-related initiatives in a consultative manner doing analysis, analytics and making recommendations. 

- Specific projects will vary greatly by region, products supported, and stakeholders served

- A primary component of each project will require querying large databases to obtain the data necessary to evaluate different interchange opportunities, building financial cost-benefit analyses and modeling to determine impacts for issuers, acquirers, and Visa using VisaNet data, and make recommendations to management.

- The position requires the ability to apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems, and quickly arrive at recommendations that drive corporate priorities. The Analyst will report to the Senior Director, Strategy, and will be based at Visa's offices in Foster City, California. 

Essential Functions

- Identify, prioritize, and execute the activities required to support Visa’s corporate strategies, priorities, and special initiative projects

- Structure and build quantitative and qualitative analyses and develop business frameworks linked to our initiatives

- Drive the analysis of the financial impact of new opportunities utilizing client and market data, including evaluating pricing opportunities on a global basis

- Develop, structure and drive incentives for routing and acceptance agreements with US merchants and acquirers in partnership with sales team

- Identify implications of data and analysis with the team, articulate recommendations, put action plans in place and drive progress

- Work within cross-functional and cross-regional project teams to solve corporate business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues

- Create data presentations & dashboards to support data driven decision making

- Collaboratively work across functions and levels in the company

- Build and maintain business landscape knowledge, to provide solid foundational context for critical strategic projects

- Participate in continuous training with Global Interchange teams

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years of work experience or

More than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

2 or more years total professional or internship experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, pricing, banking or international finance.

Ability to develop content independently and prioritize workflow, and to adapt to changes in priorities quickly

Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and able to meet deadlines

Quick-thinker, fast learner, wide general knowledge, problem solver

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling

Good business acumen in order to orient data analysis to business needs and identify the best solution out of many options

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to interact and build credibility with functional and regional stakeholders within Visa.

Self-starter, team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.

Advanced user of excel and power point

Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback and coaching from peers and managers

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
