Job Description

An engineering position that will play a key role in Architecting, Maintaining APM (Application Performance Management) tools and provide Subject Matter Expertise to solve complex application performance problems.  You will ensure the most effective and efficient utilization of IT resources, while delivering best in class application performance platform. You will have a deep technical understanding of distributed systems application architecture, open systems infrastructure and internal private cloud hosting environments

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) from an accredited school or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree
  • Minimum of 4 years' hands-on experience in using any Application Performance Management tools - Aternity APM/AppDynamics/Dynatrace
  • Expert in APM instrumentation of multi-tier services on legacy VM or physical on-premises hosts, on-premises container-based runtimes.
  • Expert skillset required in Linux (RHEL) and Windows; OS concepts and services, performance/scalability customizations
  • High level of comfort with shell scripting and shell usage
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, facilitation and leadership skills
  • Deeply self-motivated with the ability to work independently, coordinating activities within cross-regional and multi-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of protocols including HTTP, LDAP; data formats including XML and JSON, basic knowledge of end-to-end transport security (SSL/TLS).
  • Knowledge on performance aspects of various programming languages such as with Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, C++, Go etc.
  • Familiar with end-user monitoring, real-user monitoring, and/or synthetic monitoring products and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of network usage related to an application/OS stack performance and stability (e.g., packet capture and analysis, performance of application TCP listeners, client > server TCP negotiation, usage of load balancer or network failover)
  • Understanding of Active Directory-based authentication and Role Based Access Control.
  • Experience with tools like Bitbucket/Git, Artifactory, JIRA, Confluence 
  • Working knowledge of Docker containers, Kubernetes  
  • Expert knowledge in hardware, software, and distributed applications environments and solid understanding of their associated capacity and performance indicators
  • Experience with Prometheus or Grafana or Open Tracing for performance analysis
  • Experience with Advanced Spunk queries
  • Exposure to Cloud Native open source performance monitoring tools

Additional Information

The position starts at $100,100. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus and equity.

Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements This position requires the incumbent may travel for work up to 5% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
