Job Description
Team Summary
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, sellers and fintechs) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data science, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. In Asia Pacific (AP), VCA has geographically focused teams and the Center of Excellence (COE) team which provides expertise in specific industry or functional verticals (Issuer portfolio optimization, Digital, Risk, Business Solutions and Acquiring). Having access to huge transactional data on Visa’s network, data science and data driven consulting is a core competency within VCA. The incumbent will be part of VCA India and South Asia’s Data Science team and will be responsible for consulting Visa's clients in the areas of data driven deep dives, solutions and models across areas of market strategy, product development, portfolio strategy, risk management, digital strategy, working closely with the multiple Visa teams in India and AP COE team in Singapore.

Manage 10-15 medium to large size projects in a year
Develop data driven solutions using advanced statistical and ML techniques, which are scalable
Explore meaningful data partnerships to augment and add value to Visa data
Lead projects within budget and timelines.
Engagement manager for medium to large projects
Develop IP for the Visa Knowledge Management Platform(s)
Own part of VCA India and South Asia revenue target
What will you do?
Project Delivery
Manages allocated project deliverables within quality standards and budgets.
Structures documents and project deliverables, leveraging insights from data and client inputs
Delivers multiple projects at a time including one large project
Solution Development and Innovation:
Develops innovative data driven solutions to address client needs, using cutting edge statistical, ML, Deep learning techniques to ensure high quality results
- Make the solutions scalable and use them as set plays for future use
Project Leadership
Routinely identifies new trends and conducts research to develop in depth comprehension of a particular topic; manages direct/indirect teams with/without a Director’s oversight
- Leads archetype engagements –acting as engagement manager without Director involvement
Functions Growth
Develops data driven solutions leading to IP creation and supports white papers
Contributes to VCA intellectual property (e.g. case studies) that can be captured and uploaded to VCA knowledge management platform(s)
Builds expertise in areas of interest for clients
Leads/assists with business development, suggesting potential solutions that fits clients’ needs, writing and presenting proposals and understanding the operational components tied to forecasting and recognizing revenue.
- Owns a part of the VCA India and South Asia revenue target through account management of key existing clients and development of new clients
Client Management
Builds relationships with clients’ business and analytics teams
Manages client projects owning all client deliverables and all client discussions in the project

As the consulting arm of Visa, VCA wants to build a team of highly specialized experts that can provide best in class payment expertise to the client by unlocking the power of Visa’s data. In this role, you will be a critical part of Visa’s data science team to serve its client and help them grow their business and manage it more efficiently by developing and driving data driven solutions. In the role, you will at the forefront of providing consulting advice and will have ownership of key metrics directly contributing to Visa’s goal.
What you will need
Technical:
Advanced level of expertise in one or more data analytics/programming tools such as Hadoop/R/SQL/Python/Hive
Proficiency in some of the following statistical/ML techniques: Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis etc.
Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple analytics projects with diverse cross-functional stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions to solve business problems
Business
Results oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies. Experience in cards/payments, retail banking, or retail merchant industries is important

Educational and Experience Related Expectations
Graduate Degree in Any Discipline + 8 years OR Post Graduate in Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/ Computers/ Science/Management + 6 years OR PhD + 2 years
Industry knowledge of financial sector and/or retail sector and/or online retail in India and South Asia market

Projects you will be a part of:
As part of the team you will get opportunity to work on strategically important projects for clients. As an example, you might be working with a client to solve for affordability by using visa’s debit card transactions and building a credit x sell solution. In another area, you might be working to build scoring solution using alternate data, or developing personas based on customer’s transaction patterns so that you can drive various portfolio level interventions based on personalization. The role will provide you with an opportunity to work very closely with clients to solve specific problems, while at the same time help you drive industry wide thought leadership on specific topics of interest.
