Job Description

Visa is currently seeking a Senior Billing Manager to lead the Billing and Account Receivable team to deliver prioritises and drive process improvement.

The Senior Billing Manager will be part of the Controllership team and will lead the team who are fully accountable for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all Europe’s billing, accounts receivables, and balance sheet account reconciliations. Supporting the Head of Revenue Operations in ensuring that appropriate financial processes, systems and controls are in place.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Managing Billing team

•       Lead and develop the Billing team with 3 Billing Analysts as direct reports, to deliver to deadline and meet priorities to a high standard and compliant to internal and external rules and requirements.

•       Review and approve all month end Billing and Account Receivable activities, such as manual batch uploads, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.  Ensure all issues and any unreconciled balances are investigated and appropriate actions are taken to resolve

•       Review and challenge processes and documentation and ensure continuous process improvements (including automation where possible) are met by designing and executing optimal end-state processes for revenues. 

•       Improve revenue assurance in the Billing processes with enhanced reporting and analysis

•       Understand complex pricing changes, ensure governance is followed and review system changes implemented by the billing team, including evidence for audit and SOX review

•       Manage and drive the credit control function for all debtors, ensuring minimal financial risk to the Visa Europe business

•       Ensure to deliver the end-to-end performance management process, ensuring all direct reports have sufficient skills and knowledge to do their job effectively.Support the team with enhancements of the new billing system (VGBP)  by ensuring the Billing BAU team and stakeholders are involved and trained on the new capabilities to ensure successful implementation

Managing relationships

•       Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and internal customers across Visa Europe and beyond.

•       Assist Client Support with effective second line support for Client queries and work as subject matter expert knowledge on invoices, billing systems and processes

•       Provide training to Clients on the Billing System, Billing Entities, Settlement, Visa Online Invoicing Portal(VOIP) and Fee Types

•       Collaborate with Technology, Finance Systems Strategy, product owners and clients to identify, evaluate and resolve all billing issues.

Qualifications

•       The candidate will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and/or part qualified ACCA/CIMA/AAT.

•       Proven leadership and people management capability

•       Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to utilize and learn new technology to solve problems

•       Demonstrable experience in process improvement with strong analytical and problem resolution skills, Lean Six Sigma accreditation preferred (e.g. green belt).

•       Strong understanding of system functionality, masterdata setup and best practices

•       Excellent communication and influencing skills

•       Experience working with complex technical systems, accounting journals, reconciliation and SOX controls

•       Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel and experience in using Oracle, ORMB, Hyperion and Business Intelligence software (ideally Tableau)
