Job Description

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the evolving visa/travel restrictions in place, we are currently only able to extend offers to candidates with the right to work in Singapore. We are keeping the situation under close review and will adjust accordingly should the restrictive measures be lifted.

You will be part of Visa’s Digital Development Platform (DDP) global team which focuses on building end to end solution for digitization and mobilization of commerce for global market. We are looking for a technically talented Senior Software Engineer for our Client Integration Solution team based out our Singapore  office to assure client success in using our products such as Visa Token Service, Visa Direct, Visa Click to Pay, and Visa Development Platform.

This is a technical support role and requires quick troubleshooting and problem solving skills, logical thinking and application of programming techniques to support clients' API integrations of with VISA

In addition to supporting clients with their integration issues, this role needs coding skills to be able to create sample code and reference/demo applications for clients. You may also be needed to work on developing internal tools for improving efficiency and expedite trouble shooting 

he Senior Software Engineer is a senior level technical role, and therefore the successful candidate will be able to work independently, working very closely with the engineering leads, product manager, and client support teams.

 In addition to the technical skill set and passion for learning new technology, the candidate will be a self-starter, results-driven,out of the box thinker  and equipped with excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with external teams & stakeholders. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD in computer science or related field.
  • Ability to speak fluently in Chinese and English as the role will  involve supporting the clients and technical teams based in China

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA,  JD, MD) in computer science or related field.
  • Ability to speak fluently in Chinese and English as the role will  involve supporting the clients and technical teams based in China
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis, in software industry with past few years in L3  support role.
  • Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, mobile & web technologies, multi-tiered architecture and hands on development experience in Java /C# /PHP /Python /Angular /React etc.
  • Experience building & testing enterprise scale web APIs (REST/JSON) and security practices And/Or experience building native mobile apps in iOS/Android
  • A go-getter who is not overwhelmed by new technology, tight timelines, or parallel projects
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and flexible to work with distributed global teams and willing to support clients globally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.
  • Experienced in use of SPLUNK or other enterprise log retrieval/analysis tool
  • Experience developing/supporting RESTful APIs integration projects
  • Experience in payments technologies is desirable
  • Knowledge of JIRA, ServiceNow
  • Previous  software development  experience preferably in Java and a passion for building lightweight  tools for internal use is good to have.

  

Additional Information

Work Hours  Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours, and is expected to provide operational support outside the agreed business hours depending on business needs.

Travel Requirements This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 5% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
