Job Description

What's it all about?

The Head of Buyer Solutions is responsible for Visa consumer core products (credit, debit, pre-paid), premium products (Signature, Premier, Platinum, Infinite) and consumer centric propositions in the French, Belgian and Luxembourg (FBL) markets. The Head of Buyer Solutions will work hand-in-hand with Sales, Business Development, Consulting and Marketing to win new business with financial institutions and new partners alike. This role will lead and motivate a team of solutions experts in line with Visa’s Leadership Principles, reflecting clear prioritization, strong stakeholder alignment and using key principles of collaborative, agile workforce management.

 

What we expect you to do, day to day.

  • Lead, evolve and operationalise Visa’s Buyer Solutions strategy and priorities across France, Belgium, Luxembourg. Your primary objective will be to drive revenue growth across existing and new consumer card products and propositions, across the short and long-term.
  • Continue to build on Visa’s market leading position in the Premium segment to take Visa Premier, Platinum and Infinite to greater heights in France. Own the P&L for local Premium offerings including Medical Assistance/Insurance, Concierge, and Premium centric loyalty solutions.
  • Build and maintain a strong network across Visa functions/verticals (inside and outside of Product), connecting the dots as new capabilities that benefit Buyer Solutions arise.
  • Establish and manage positive, beneficial, and constructive relationships with client stakeholders, and execute product strategy with deep understanding of client’s business objectives and strategy.
  • Build, own and deliver a pipeline of initiatives as aligned with local regional leadership team.
  • Support local Debit, Credit and Prepaid client RFPs and strategic partnerships.
  • Leverage Visa’s regional/global knowledge base (e.g. best practices, performance metrics, market insights, economics) to elevate FBL Product Organization.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise internally and externally on technology, innovation, and payment trends
  • Lead a team of innovative and engaged individuals (>5 people) focused on delivering best in class solutions to address preference and anticipated needs of local customers as well as all stakeholders across FBL markets
  • Drive performance management, career development, recruitment, succession planning and talent assessment for the team

Qualifications

An understanding of product development, digital innovation and business and technology trends affecting the future is a must. Demonstrated strength in building and maintaining internal and external relationships will also be a critical factor to success.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in payments, with significant expertise in product management and development, strategy consulting and execution
  • Demonstrated success in developing, articulating and championing a strategy
  • Passion for realizing opportunities and resolving issues in the payments industry, particularly debit, credit, prepaid products, with an ecosystem approach
  • Global perspective and awareness of market differences and commonalities
  • Strategic and analytical thinker; demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly
  • Effective communicator, especially in teaching and influencing scenarios
  • History of growing emerging businesses through strategy, innovation, development, and commercialization of new products and services
  • Strong comprehension of current account, KYC and banking architecture and the ongoing developments in this space
  • Results-oriented individual who challenges the status quo in order to drive a culture of constant improvement
  • Hands-on and nimble, while also able to navigate a globally matrixed environment (modeler of collaboration and influence)
  • Process oriented, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal team work and external products brought to market
  • Ability to work in a fluid and innovative environment with shifting priorities
  • Fluent French and English required
