Job Description

As a Business Analyst within Visa’s Third Party Technology Management team, you will manage a variety of functions which including partnering with technology stakeholders to assist in developing a baseline for major deals of third party products deals used within Visa, writing business justifications, execution of Visa procurement principles, development, tracking and execution of multi-year technology strategy, budget projection.

This position will gain an in-depth understanding of the business, strategic direction, organizational structure, and key vendor partnerships. You will help define success for IT financial efficiency and cost clarity programs by creating and tracking key metrics and developing consumption optimization programs.

Essential Functions

  • Identify appropriate data sources to track deployment of assets across Visa and use the information across multiple sources to create an infrastructure baseline
  • Understand baseline data and perform data manipulation, data comparison from multiple sources, scenario-based analyses
  • Work closely with Technology partners to understand the technical details for IT purchases and create business justification for purchases
  • Create and manage the budget for IT technology lanes working in close partnership with the IT engineering teams and Business analytics team.
  • Assist product owners with execution of technology strategy, keeping a view of the operating expense impact of key decisions
  • Run SQL scripts to extract data from multiple data sources and have ability to normalize data based on product owner feedback
  • Identify expense reduction opportunities with product owners and create plans and tracking to ensure execution of cost reduction strategies.
  • Review demand for new purchases with product owners, validate that the demand aligns with technology strategy and present analytics to compare Visa’s usage of similar products within the category
  • Manage spend and adhere to key Visa procurement rules while identifying strategies for purchases that do not meet the rules
  • Work with global teams and work closely with US teams to perform the above functions and collaborate highly with team members for continuous support
  • Manage and improve the hardware lifecycle management process, from purchasing/receiving to disposal
  • Update and maintain information in the asset repository in a timely manner and Improve the quality of hardware data in the IT asset repository
  • Conduct physical inventories of IT assets in Visa data centers and coordinate disposal pickups and completion of associated processes and records
  • Support senior team members in projects and audits

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 2 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business
• Experience within an IT environment and understanding of
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with SQL queries, data analysis and visualization tools
• Demonstrated experience dealing with large data sets and analysis. Pulling data from disparate data sources, normalizing, and analyzing cost and other metrics.
• Demonstrated capability in working with large global team and possibly working during evenings with teams on US schedules
• Must have technical background to understand the key infrastructure products and understand the core concepts behind “running IT like a business”
o Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically
o Ability to conduct research such as market size and trends, competitive analysis
o Ability to collect and analyze relevant quantitative and qualitative data sets
o Strong communication skills including written, oral, and presentation abilities
o Business and technical writing skills; executive level presentation skills
o Organizational agility and the ability to influence stakeholders and various levels of senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:
• Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical discipline and/or an MS/MBA is a plus
• Experience in working with third party vendors
• Must have technical background and interest to understand the key infrastructure products
• Must have strong quantitative skills & experience taking raw data and drawing actionable insights from it
• Experience in a tech environment and understanding of data centers and IT frameworks preferred
• Must be comfortable with ambiguity and fast change with an ability to adapt quickly and easily; and have demonstrated ability to build a high performance and collaborative work environment in highly matrixed organization
