Job Description

The Data, Security, and Identity Products (DSIP) team at Visa focuses on developing data centric products to drive better outcomes for Visa clients and ultimately their customers. As one of the product portfolios in Visa’s value-added services business, DSIP has experienced high rates of growth year over year and is expected to grow at a significant state over next 5 years. Our products are used to address clients’ needs in the following areas: benchmarking and operations; marketing; underwriting; authorization optimization; and seamless authentication.


In DSIP, we love data and believe it accelerates innovation and empowers individuals, businesses, and economies to thrive. We make the insights from Visa data easy to get so clients can focus on using them, and we connect insights to execution engines so clients can act on them faster. We deliver insights and action through web applications, APIs, and integrations with execution platforms.


We created a commercialization function to accelerate our ability to achieve our revenue goals with solid understanding of product users, buyers, and market opportunities. This commercialization team, affectionately known as Accelerated Commercialization Team (ACT) is made up of 4 primary workstreams:

  • Strategy – connect client needs & product value propositions to identify revenue opportunities
  • Go to market acceleration- launch & drive demand
  • @ Scale – scale sales & distribution
  • Portfolio Growth – optimize & grow revenue


Commercialization is a set of overlapping activities that involve multiple functions across the organization simultaneously. This role is for a Sr Director to lead the strategy function on our ACT team. This candidate will need to clearly understand the needs our customers, external drivers that impact our business, and the lessons we learned through initial market offerings and logically connect these to implications for our commercialization strategy. Given that we love data, success for this role will be grounded in a fact base we can share with leadership to communicate a clear outlook for opportunity. The following activities will be key during the first year for this role:


• Map products to client need/opportunity – moving us to client centric solutions selling
• Identify and establish bundled solutions that can scale across markets and client types
• Leverage a data driven approach to complete assessments for these solutions across geographic markets, buyer personas (to include an assessment of the competitor landscape)
• Create a buyer’s journey – map solutions along the journey to inform opportunities for product and sales
• Establish a data driven basis for opportunity sizing (i.e. validate opportunity sizing and easily compare relative opportunities of markets/regions across products; maintain an up to date view of size and growth of opportunities
• Establish a process to set up go to market activities for success. This may include setting up commercialization framework to inform clear path to revenue – establish process to promote agile product development and GTM


In addition, as the Commercialization Strategy leader, this individual will build and lead a team that will be responsible for driving global and regional alignment and setting strategy for products, services, and solutions to all product lines under Data, Security, and Identity portfolio. This role requires a strategic
and analytical person who understands the Payment industry, the broad market trends, and penetration tactics to scale our products. The understanding of opportunities will define product use cases, inform product and commercialization strategy, and enable product market fit.


Specific responsibilities include:
• Craft out a process flow starting with the identification of a client need and go all the way through billed revenue through the sales process
• Lead and execute various analysis to gain in-depth understanding of product users and buyers (e.g. customer segmentation, market analysis, penetration analysis) to support the strategic recommendations
• Partner with global & regional product teams to evaluate marketing sizing and to create data-driven business cases for achieving near term and long-term goals
• In partnership with GTM Acceleration leaders, shape go-to-market strategy and positioning of products and services through a strong understanding of clients’ and partners’ core business drivers
• Collaborate closely with @ Scale leaders to support a shared understanding across regions and channel partners analytics, insights, best practices to support scaled sales and distribution models
• Collaborate with Global & Regional Product, Client Delivery, Marketing, Technology teams in addition to across ACT workstreams
• Continually explore opportunities for improvement, in how we work and in the work product team produces

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• 15+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD); PhD with 9+ years of experience

• 15+ years of experience in product strategy, commercialization strategy, consulting, or business analysis with exposure to Payment industry
• Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty
• Track record of developing and leading high-performance, nimble, and analytically rigorous teams; track record of high followership and empowering people leadership style
• Proven track-record of organizing, developing, and executing strategy projects that deliver results
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to influence and instill confidence with stakeholders at all levels and in all functions/geographies
• Analytical, organized, accurate, and detail-oriented with fact-based consultative discipline
• Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and results driven, with proven success over a wide variety of functional business problem
