Job Description

We offer a range of branded payment product platforms, which our financial institution clients use to develop and offer credit, charge, deferred debit, prepaid and cash access programs to cardholders. Visa's card platforms provide consumers, businesses, merchants and government entities with a secure, convenient and reliable way to pay and be paid in 170 countries and territories. The Global FSS team executes the approach of the technology solutions implemented to support the global Finance organization.

This role will design data solutions to automate business and system processes to meet business needs. The role defines best practices in the business information processes, functional design and implementation of data sourcing, validation and consumption to support various finance projects and stakeholders. Responsible for solution quality, functional performance, scalability and usability. Provides architectural and “big picture” oversight for the implementation.

The role will work in a matrixed role, collaborating with the various Finance functions, FSS groups and technology to ensure alignment of Finance data solutions to the long-term application strategy and analytical reporting.

Job responsibilities: 

  • Support the definition and execution of end-to-end strategy for the global Finance Systems
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in FSS and various Business groups
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with senior executive management and articulate ideas, recommendations clearly and concisely
  • Organize and provide oversight for the team supporting Finance’s large portfolio of systems and initiatives
  • Effectively partner with IT to define and implement Enterprise Data standards including, definitions, Quality Testing, production processes and reporting approaches
  • Make and lead improvement recommendations across Finance functions analytical reporting and data platform
  • Leverage relationships with business partners to identify and recommend improvements and strategic investments
  • Synthesize very complex data findings into logical conclusions and impact assessments for executive management recommendations
  • Ability to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of multiple finance systems supporting the various Finance departments (i.e. Controllers; FP&A; Revenue Operations; Billing; Receivables; Tax & Transfer Pricing; Payables; Financial Operations; etc)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to translate complex information into comprehensive and concise test results and recommendations
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with all levels of management and articulate ideas and recommendations clearly
  • Achieve project goals by engaging effectively with stakeholders at all management levels across Visa, including architects and strategists, technical IT subject matter experts, business partners, vendors, and Visa senior management
  • Demonstrate and leverage strong business and financial acumen
  • Ensure a strong control and governance framework is established and maintained to support SOX and Audit reviews
  • Facilitate Business and Technology discussions at various leadership levels to ensure alignment towards long term goals of Finance and IT
  • Works closely with various Operations and Technology teams on software and hardware solutions to meet Business needs
  • Evaluate and improve the tools, controls frameworks, and communication approaches for various finance systems
  • Flexibility to lead change and adapt to changing business needs

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 5 years of work experience with a PhD
• Experience in the Financial Services Industry
• Experience in working with Finance Systems while contributing to senior management decision-making on how the technologies should be leveraged and integrated
• 5+ years of experience working with Finance Data solutions
• 5+ years of experience leading project teams through all phases of the technology implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, testing, & go-live)
• Experience supporting large projects (>$3M) budgets, risks, resources, and staffing
• This position requires proven analytical and reporting experience with Finance systems within a global organization

Preferred Qualifications
• 15+ years Financials systems experience (Management, Functional support, Analysis, or Architecture)
• Excellent data analysis skills and demonstrated experience in leading testing, validation, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing for large transformation programs.
• 10+ Experience with ERP applications like (PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle EBS, Etc.) especially with Billing, Receivables, General Ledger etc.
• Expertise with Performance management and Regulatory Compliance applications like OFSAA, Hyperion, Axiom, etc.
• Expertise with relational and dimensional data modeling
• Experience and knowledge of Tableau; PowerBI and SSAS; OBIEE; or MicroStrategy is beneficial
• Knowledge of data modeling tools (ERWin, Embarcadero)
• Excellent SQL skills
• Sound knowledge of Big Data/Hadoop
• Experience with Cubing technologies like Essbase, TM1, SSAS, AtScale, etc.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a combination of Systems/Accounting/Finance concentration
• Ability to learn quickly and achieve in-depth understanding of complex processes and systems
• Working knowledge of accounting treatments and statistical reporting
• Strong leadership and organization skills and management experience

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
