Job Description

At Digital and Developer Platform, we are focused on creating smarter payment solutions that provide fast, easier ways to pay with your phone, web and other digital devices wherever you are – remote or proximity payment.

The Digital and Developer team is looking for talented engineers for Bangalore office to drive the evolution of mobile payment solutions and to build Visa's enterprise mobile enablement practice. 

You will be responsible with design and implementation of cryptography operations for security related services.  Must be able to coordinate and manage input from product architects and technology stakeholders across the enterprise and be responsible for the design and execution of large-scale technology initiatives.

We are looking for someone who can drive initiatives independently, has excellent development and testing skills, strong interests in backend and a passion for delivering high quality, rock-solid code.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to the Design, Development, Testing and deployment of services serving cryptography operations.
  • Write solid code following best code and security practices. Write unit/integration tests for the code. Develop quick POCs for priority initiatives.
  • Work as a part of scrum team executing the products requirements, work with architects, product management and other teams in an agile manner.   
  • Basic and deep understanding of Cryptography and its implementation.
  • Lead technical discussions and initiatives for a highly available, scalable, resilient services which serves cryptography operations for partners.  
  • Collaborate with product owners and technical staff globally to define requirements for new features and enhancements to the Cryptorgraphy services.
  • Evaluate technical options and provide recommendation on scope and scale of effort required to develop an end-to-end solution.
  • Manage and mentor a team of talented engineers.
  • Take ownership and lead the engineering responsibility for multiple components of the platform.
  • Actively participate in defining architecture and creating solution documents; consistently, be hands-on with low level design, code review, coding and unit testing activities.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across the delivery of the project and work with engineers to ensure they are delivering efficiently and to high quality standards.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks at all stages of the project.
  • Build a culture of engineering excellence within the team; drive adoption of practices like continuous integration, security, code reviews, code coverage, code quality and shift left practices.
  • Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards, processes and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 7+ years of Software Development Experience or a Masters with 6+ years of Software Development Experience.
• Expertise with the Java, Spring-boot, Hibernate, RDBMS, C lang (if applicable) etc.
• Development experience in building Microservices, specifically with HTTP, REST, JSON and XML.
• Experience in GIT, Maven, Jenkins or such build automation tools
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and iterative software development lifecycle principles
• Knowledge or experience with C language, Cryptography related concepts – such as protection of data at rest/transit – is a big plus
• Led and delivered complex projects where complexity is a function of a combination of these factors – domain knowledge, distributed architecture, technical stack, influencing and collaborating with multiple technology partners and business partners
• Experience as a technical leader with ability to understand the requirements and independently, architect, design and build enterprise applications.
• Experience of managing an engineering team of 3-4 people
• Experience with Agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Triton, Chef, Sonar, Clover, JUnit, Mockito.
• Experience with shift left practices and performance testing applications.
• Collaborate with security team to implement and verify secure coding techniques.
