Job Description

The Global Marketing Finance team serves as a business partner for Visa’s Chief Marketing Officer and provides finance support for Visa’s Global Brand and Marketing organization, including the Global Customer Marketing team. We are an agile and visible team that collaborates cross-functionally and with regional partners to provide financial planning, month-end reporting and decision support analytics to business leaders. 

We are seeking a proactive finance professional to be the finance partner for Global Customer Marketing. The Finance Manager will develop financial strategies and drive analytics to enable business decision making, in addition to leading forecasting and budgeting processes, and providing detailed monthly reports and analysis directly to Business Leaders. The position will involve delivering important insights to senior leaders and require expert-level analysis and insight development to deliver clear and measurable impact. The ideal candidate will have a deep background in financial analysis, preferably with a public company, and demonstrated experience managing complex finance processes and experience engaging with business partners. Responsibilities include:

Strategic Planning and Analytics:

  • Become a trusted business partner to multiple business units and executive management
  • Partner with stakeholders to create business cases and execute complex financial modeling and analysis
  • Identify and implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operational decision making

Financial Management:

  • Lead preparation of the consolidated annual business plan and analysis for Global Customer Marketing
  • Interpret and present key findings directly to senior leaders
  • Enable management by providing timely and accurate information
  • Understand business drivers and recommend measures to further improve results
  • Establish efficient processes for quarterly and monthly performance reporting

Project Management:

  • Spearhead ad hoc projects to further improve the overall performance of the team and organization(s)
  • Support senior finance leadership on investment / project decisions
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance over core processes building efficiencies and streamlining deliverables for optimal result

Business Engagement:

  • Integrate financial insights into the business; attend team meetings/develop understanding of the business
  • Prepare and develop tailored, effective presentations, analysis and dialogue with each business partner
  • Provide timely, meaningful views on business performance
  • Engage in dialogue around budget and spend to optimize budget and investments, incorporating return-on-investment discipline
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues located in Visa’s regional hubs around the world

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
• Superior analytical, project management, and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze financial modeling
• Advanced proficiency in Financial modelling in Microsoft Excel and in building presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint are required

Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles; MBA/CPA preferred
• Can convert complex analyses into revealing business storylines
• Operates with minimal supervision and able to make informed, well-reasoned decisions independently using strong business judgement
• Proactive, strategic thinker with ability to communicate effectively with executive management
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with other functional areas to understand the operational and cultural issues relevant to achieving superior results
• Client focused with tenacity to resolve issues and conflicts
• Able to work in a dual-reporting matrix environment

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
