Job Description

At the heart of Visa lies a secure, global payments processing network that for 40 years has empowered people, businesses and governments in 200 countries. The Organisation as a whole, is amid profound change, enabling us to innovate, transform and refresh the ways of working together with our technology assets to set the foundation for the next several decades. Recently acquired, the Visa Payments Ltd service provides clients with access to a global payment network, maintaining local banking partnerships, through which client business is settled directly via local clearing to banked beneficiaries in 85+ countries. 

As a result, the Visa Payments Ltd. team are building exciting new business capabilities into the Visa Network that will form a significant element of Visa’s future global payment network.  This will enable Visa to support additional growth by driving deeper relationships with clients, expanding access to Visa technology platforms, and enabling alternative payment methods and new product innovation.

The Operations Team at Visa Payments Ltd is responsible for managing operational change initiatives for the Visa Payments Ltd. organisation. The Team is comprised of four distinct functions:

  • Implementation Management,
  • Operational Change management,
  • Operational Readiness and
  • Operational Business Testing.

As part of the change agenda and transformation, the Team brings together subject matter experts (SMEs) across many operational aspects of the client and payment lifecycle to directly focus on changes and improvements that will optimise and scale our payment processing capability, support the operationalisation of the Visa Direct Payouts product as it evolves, and to ensure readiness of our Operations Team to adopt and embed the operational and transformational changes in plan.

The role will report into the Business Test Manager within the Operations function. Central to the role is the execution and coordination of testing activities specifically the User Acceptance Testing and Operational Testing across the change initiatives impacting the Visa Payments Ltd Operational Teams. The Test Analyst support the execution of the testing strategy and support the delivery of the testing automation framework.

About the role.

  • Contribute and support UAT Project/programme level test strategy and UAT test plans for each project
  • Translate business requirements and operational workflows into test scenarios and test cases
  • Define, document, and maintain UAT test scenarios and test cases in collaboration with business users, business analysts and Product owners
  • Conduct UAT testing to ensure testing standards meet business requirements
  • Define and maintain automated User Acceptance Test pack and test scripts and support their execution within the agreed testing lifecycle
  • Provide UAT test support to business users during test preparation and execution
  • Support the integration of Test Scripts into the automated testing framework
  • Coordinate Production Verification and Penny Testing activities with Operations support teams and VPL stakeholders
  • A strong business tester, skilled in functional acceptance testing, with an aptitude and desire to work and collaborate with business users
  • Proven experience in test processes and methodologies with experience in adopting industry best practice for both testing technology and processes
  • Experience of Test Automation methods and tools
  • The ability to coordinate activities and tasks with relevant operations teams to complete Production Verification for newly promoted changes and Production / Penny Testing  
  • Excellent understanding of payment processing flows  
  • Knowledge in testing APIs, Web Services and Batching applications
  • Ability to work under pressure, both in terms of deliverable deadlines, but also in terms of communication with managers and resources under difficult situations and deadlines
  • Proven track record in learning new technologies, processes and procedures
  • Inquisitive style with good problem-solving skills
  • Independent and hands-on worker who takes ownership and who is able of operating with minimal supervision and who can use initiative in a constructive and positive way.

Skills & Experience.

  • Good interpersonal communication and team working skills with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Team members, clients, vendors, senior managers and all staff using collaborative approach
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
  • Calm, professional and assertive

    Technical Experience.

  • Knowledge of Cucumber automation framework and experience of using Java and Selenium
  • Programming experience in Java, Python and JavaScript
  • Proficient in the use of Postman
  • Proven experience and understanding of Agile development methodology
  • Test Management Tools – understanding of and ability to effectively use test management tools to maintain testing deliverables, and to report on testing progress
  • Defect Tracking Tools - ability to define and implement standards for a selected tracking tool, manage defect tracking and interpret defect trends
  • Configuration Management Tools – experience in using configuration management tools, including an understanding of Configuration Management issues and controls
  • Experience in using Jira Toolset, Git and/or Github

Deep interest in financial services with commercial experience in financial services and first-class technical and collaboration skills

Key Performance Indicators.

  • The following KPIs form part of an ongoing review of performance and belong to the overall annual Performance Management process. Regular reviews throughout the year will be maintained with a formal assessment conducted at least twice in year. While annual objectives will reflect the current business demand and therefore be subject to change, the KPIs can be expected to remain relatively static.
  • Performance improvement resulting in revenue growth.
  • New product adoption with existing clients.

All mandated training and compliance courses are completed successfully well in advance of the prescribed deadline

Qualifications

• A degree in software engineering, another engineering discipline or a scientific discipline is required.
• A-level(s) in mathematical disciplines.
