Job Description

Visa Direct is an exciting, new payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate domestic and cross-border fund transfers/disbursements to Visa accounts in the U.S. and around the world using push payment technology, i.e. Original Credit Transaction (OCT), and traditional ACH/RTP payment rails to deposit into checking accounts and wallets leveraging the Visa Payments Limited (VPL) network.   Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person to person (P2P) transfer, cross border remittances and global funds disbursement (business to consumer or small business payments), and more.

The Business Planning and Strategy team supports Visa Direct North America and Global Ecosystem teams in driving organizational and process changes to facilitate achievement of financial and business goals.

The Director, North America Visa Direct Data and Insights will be a key team member of the NA Visa Direct team and will be responsible for developing strategies to track program performance and identify the best practices and decisions to optimize all aspects of the NA Visa Direct business.  Your remit will be to partner with the segment and use case owners creating high-impact analysis and insights to inform and enhance business decisions and evaluate growth opportunities. 

Responsibilities: 

The Director, North America Visa Direct Data and Insights - Strategic programs and Operational Excellence is responsible for developing strategies to track program performance and identify the best practices and decisions to optimize all aspects of the NA Visa Direct business, including: 

  • Lead and oversee the business analytics function to provide data-driven insights related to business performance, develops strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives.

  • Utilize KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitors intelligence and other publicly available information to develop analytical tools, reports and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making.

  • Ad-hoc analysis to enhance business decisions including, identifying new patterns and relationships, forecasting future business needs and performance, and modeling potential growth and revenue optimization opportunities for the business   

  • Collaborate with the Finance team on accurate reporting and timely updates to the leadership team

  • Maintain timely, proactive and structured communication across the Business Planning and Strategy team and for the rest of the organization

  • Seek clarity and ensure teams are aligned and continually progressing and delivering on cross-functional programs that drive customer and company objectives

  • Drive long-term planning, decision making, tracking and high-level reporting including clear communications on priorities, high-level estimates and resources requirements

  • Develop and foster a culture of innovation in the end-to-end process, challenge existing processes, technologies and systems to continuously seek ways to do things better in order to achieve business/customer objectives and drive greater efficiencies.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 8 or more years of experience managing custom market / portfolio analytics, insights, and research projects (plus one or more of the following highly desired: high tech, market research vendor, ad agency, or business consulting).
  • Good understanding of payments and money movement space, key players (card and account), competition and market trends
  • Masterful at uncovering insights from data, research, and other sources with the ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Excellent ability to develop clear and compelling presentations for delivery to senior executives both internal to Visa and to external clients / partners
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to a broad audience in an approachable way. Ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into understandable messages using various formats (decks, verbal presentations, white papers)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on clients
  • Strong project management and organization with the ability to independently lead and manage complex projects with multiple work streams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Fast learner and critical thinker, ability to interpret rules and policies and clearly articulate applicability to programs
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results
  • Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities, obtain buy-in and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
