Job Description

The candidate will coordinate, write, track progress, edit, and package a variety of technical documents for our customers. Candidate must ensure compliance with customer requirements and be able to edit for consistency, clarity, grammar, and syntax. The writer must be able to work closely with other departments to obtain information needed (business development, software development, operations), and meet internal and external deadlines. This position requires analyzing solicitation requirements and Request for Proposal specifications from International, Federal, State, and County agencies, and writing project experience, personnel resumes, and past performance sections. The individual will facilitate the proposal process, interacting with project management, operations' staff and technical subject matter experts to interpret RFPs and analyze the proposal's requirements to determine the best value approach and write-ups necessary to ensure a compliant response while positioning the company for a positive evaluation.

 

Job Description

This position is a hybrid of 4 jobs: Proposal Writing/ Technical Writing / Marketing Writing / Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Interact with engineers, business development managers and executives to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for inclusion into RFP responses.
  • Create new web content and customer press releases.
  • Organize material and complete writing assignment according to RFP requirements regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Edit, standardize, make changes or write up draft and finalized materials prepared by other writers.
  • Ability to take "bullet points" from others and then write responses.
  • Support the development of the Executive Summary within proposals.
  • Maintain historical records and files of work and revisions for future proposal efforts.
  • Ability to coordinate, write, edit, and finalize proposals with little supervision.
  • Manage and coordinate with proposal team leader to meet required RFP completion dates.
  • Maintain the corporate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database: track opportunities and create dashboards to support the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators for Corporate Development functions.
  • Complete additional writing project assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
  • Ability to successfully interface with a diverse team - from Operations personnel up and including executives to ensure completion of required assignments.
  • Proposal coordination experience in facilitating people, gathering information, managing proposal assignments of third party writers and packaging written or electronic proposal submissions.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point; Adobe and other publishing software.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Action oriented with strong analytical skills.

Additional Information

Physical   Requirements:

This position primarily consists of working indoors in an office environment at the customer's location. Essential   functions: The employee may be required to: sit, walk, or stand for extended periods, talk and hear with the ability to communicate, detect, converse   with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information, to use the   hands and fingers to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, or   position, and see to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge,   observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.

Travel Requirements

Occassional travel may be required based upon buisness goals and objectives

Schedule Requirements

This position shall require individual to be available during normal working hours from 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Standard   Time (CST)
