Job Description

The Senior Developer II provides expertise on technology and architecture and designs complex, business critical systems solutions. Possesses expert knowledge of business-system functional capabilities and configurations and is directly accountable for representing such systems to business unit customers, spanning all levels of assigned business areas. Expert with software development life cycle (SDLC) and IT change control procedures.  Able to organize and lead medium to large scale Application Development efforts, solving complex business needs with technical solutions.  Represents team in large projects that cross team boundaries.  Troubleshoots and resolves complex production support issues quickly, summarizing and reporting results to IT management.  Communicates and collaborates effectively within and across team boundaries, including IT management, as appropriate.  Provide appropriate staff mentoring and guidance to foster a strong team atmosphere with an eye to customer service.  May monitor matrixed staff performance and provide timely feedback to promote development and address problems.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Leads projects, or acts as a segment lead on projects assigned.  Organizes activities and provides work guidance to less experienced associates.

2.Provides design and technical consulting expertise for large projects.  Consults with clients and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate a solution.  Understands potential impacts to processes and systems across the organization and factors these into solutions.  Excellent analytical and logic skills.

3.Participates in testing associated with cross-functional project team efforts as dictated by project assignments.

4.Effectively analyzes and resolves large, high risk production problems related to assigned applications; assesses alternatives and implements long-term solutions. Successful performance includes demonstrated ownership and timely responses to production problems and business unit inquiries.

5.Produces appropriate documentation and notifications for changes to production systems or fixes to production problems.

6.Demonstrates complete understanding of project planning techniques and assists in creating project plans.  Manages and resolves project issues.

7.Monitor and communicate project status and schedules to appropriate levels of business and IT management.

8.Promotes teamwork and leads by example.  Unquestionable ethics and integrity is pertinent.

9.Responsible for gaining deep knowledge of the industry and business and proactively using this knowledge to deliver meaningful results.

10.Knowledge of LEAN principles.  Seeks opportunities for lean processes both internally and cross-functionally, to eliminate redundancy and waste and drives for value added processes.

11.Initiate a personal training plan, continue acquiring skills and knowledge, and pursue an understanding of the organization's business plans and strategies.

Qualifications


1.Proven track record for functioning as a Segment Lead on medium to large size projects, with direction from a Project Manager.

2.Shows initiative and willingness to take calculated risks.

3.Familiar with Agile and SCRUM methodologies and can apply the methodology.

4.Seven (7) years of .NET application development experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1.Ability to apply understanding of features and functions of application development languages and/or Database Management Systems (DBMS).

2.Demonstrated ability to analyze medium to large, moderately complex, business needs to determine appropriate solutions and design; construct/modify code to meet business needs based on program specifications; effectively analyze and resolve medium to large size/risk production problems related to assigned applications.

3.Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles and applying them to promote and implement value-added solutions. 

4.Ability to think through all facets of an issue and generate a solution, demonstrating logic and reasoning skills.

5.Values teamwork and engages others, while also successfully collaborating within and across departments.  Unquestionable ethics & integrity is pertinent.

6.Customer-focused with demonstrated experience and ability to identify and assess root issues and resolve to customer's satisfaction or escalate as appropriate.
