The company we are recruiting for is an international supplier of trucks, cars, motorbikes, and spare parts they supply from their central stock in the Netherlands.

They have presence in many African countries and ship their orders all over Africa, Middle East and the Caspian region. 

Job Description

For one of their large customers in Chad we are looking for a trainer to train local car mechanics on a freelance base. The company has delivered over 50 vehicles to their customer and is asked to deliver a good training for maintenance. You report to the local chief on site and our customer’s head office in Holland.

Training should be prepared for appr. 10 pax including mechanics and electronics. The local mechanics differ from none to some experience. A training takes about two weeks.

You train the local mechanics the basics of car maintenance like inspecting, diagnosing, preparing and estimating repairs and installs mechanical services including for instance brakes, driveline suspension systems, wheel alignments and oil changes. Also the computer diagnose will be part of the training.

Customer is using Toyota and US Ford models. All services need to be completed in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures and Quality Standards.

You are working on the clients premises and are responsible for inventory and cleanliness of the work and workshop.

The first assignment will be executed in Chad in Q1, 2014. More assignments are expected where similar requirements are asked for, in different countries.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 year’s experience working as a vehicle mechanic (trainer)
  • Experience or ability to develop and execute a training
  • Strong customer service skills and a high level of professional integrity
  • Possession of valid motor vehicle license 
  • Ability to work a very flexible schedule including weekends 
  • Possess a car mechanic certificate or have similar level experience
  • Needs to speak and write English and French
  • Preferably Africa or other remote experience
  • Preferably Ford and or Toyota knowledge and experience

 

Profile:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced car Mechanic that is willing to train local students the basics of car mechanics on a freelance base in West Africa.    

Terms of employment:

An attractive tariff can be negotiated dependent on skills, qualifications and experience. Transport and full board and lodging are supplied.
