This established, Dutch owned, company based in Lilongwe offers different services. They organize budget safaris within Malawi and Zambia. Destinations like South Luangwa National Park, Victoria Falls, Liwonde National Park and Lake Malawi are scheduled regularly. They offer guest mainly camping trips, but also an upgrade into more luxurious accommodation is a possibility. Travelers but also volunteers from all ages and nationalities join the safaris. 

Also they own a hotel and a lodge, both situated in Lilongwe that offer mid-range and upper class accommodation for tourists and business people.

The owners are entrepreneurs always looking for new challenge and expansion of business. This in combination with maintenance of the existing property requires someone that can manage the technical department. Together with the experienced maintenance team the Builder / Maintenance Specialist coordinates and helps make everything run smoothly.

The tasks can differ from painting the inside of the pool, repairing the kitchen, proactive checkups, to building new chalets at one of the camps. The Specialist can be located at different properties around Malawi and Zambia. Every day a new challenge. He / she will be part of the team and will have to make his / her hands pretty dirty as well.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Building of new or expansion of existing property
• Maintenance of all properties
• Responsible for safety
• Purchasing building material / stocktakes
• Managing a team of builders
• Deliver good quality building
• Responsible for tool system
• Budget control

Profile:

The perfect candidate is one that wants to work in a different environment with a lot of patience - good communication skills – authority – a lot of energy and willing to make long days.

Terms of employment

• First 3 months USD 200 plus accommodation
• After 3 months USD1000 plus accommodation
• Ticket expenses of USD1500 compensated after each finished year
• 6 day workweek, 1 day off

Requirements:

• Qualifications within building / Maintenance industry is an advantage
• Africa experience
• Fluent in English
• The candidate must have a keen eye for detail and wants to deliver quality
• Must have a hardworking, ‘hands on’, practical mentality
• Driver’s license
