Job description

For a trade and development group partner we are searching for a Financial Controller to add to their financial team.

The company owns a cashew nut factory in the West African country of Burkina Faso. The factory has 1500 people working there processing the nuts. The processed nuts are sold in the Netherlands through a middle man to various companies in the snack industry.

For this function we are looking for an experienced person with an affiliation with Africa with good leadership, coaching, communicative skills (intercultural) and good financial insight.

Job purpose

The company has a Burkinabe manager. The manager has a good feel for the local market and to find potential in it. At this point the client is looking for somebody that can fill the tasks of making good (financial) reports and analyses in order to support the manager. The controller will work closely together with the manager.

Also important is the coaching of two expat Jr. managers and local management to help them develop in their roles as well. The controller will work from Bobo-dioulasso at the office and factories. The function is for a period of 2 years.

Job profile

Core activities:

• Make reports for analysis
• In cooperation with the manager create strategies and implement them
• Coach the management team on finance, acquisition and sales
• Make rapports for the manager and shareholders of TDG
• Make rapports for local and international banks
• Help, support and coach the manager in achieving the companies goals

Job requirements

• Completed HBO or WO training in corporate economics or a related study
• Min. 5 yrs work experience
• Financial skills in: making a budget, financial rapports and cash flows
• Good coaching skills
• Preferred experience working abroad
• Must: Good understanding of the English language written and spoken
• Pre: Good understanding of the French language written and spoken
