RIWIK supplies off-grid renewable energy solutions in Kenya, including solar PV systems, solar water pumps and solar water heaters. We aim to make our clients’ solar experience easy and reliable by delivering high quality solutions tailored to our customers’ unique needs.  

Through our integrated service approach, we partner with our clients, help them navigate their way through the solar product range and offer uniquely tailored solutions for their current budget.

The operations manager will report to the CEO, who is currently managing the company full time, but who will relocate to The Netherlands once the operations manager is in function. The CEO will be in Kenya on a regular basis.

Job Description

The Operations Manager’s key role is to ensure the company’s day to day operations run smoothly and to realize the growth targets. He/she will be an integral part of RIWIK’s management and help implement the business strategy.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day operations, including sales, marketing, logistics and installations
  • Revenue responsibility for the company’s sales numbers and pipeline
  • Undertake (technical) field visits for the company’s key projects
  • Managing the company’s key accounts
  • Manage the process of closing deals for larger customers
  • Liaise with technical team to prepare installations
  • Oversee the supervision of employees
  • Communicate information to the different departments

 

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively without day to day supervision, liaising closely with colleagues in both Kenya and the Netherlands.

Qualifications

An ideal candidate will:

  • Minimum of 4 years work experience in the areas of operations management or sales
  • Degree in Business Management, Energy Engineering, related field or comparable experience
  • Experience in East Africa will be an added advantage
  • Excellent communication and sales skills
  • Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities
  • Enthusiastic, convincing, energetic and result driven
  • Have leadership and supervisory skills
  • Have entrepreneurial mind set

Additional Information

Duration: minimum 2 years commitment, full time job.

Compensation:  local management salary; level depends on experience.
