The Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC) has always believed in the business and investment
opportunities which Africa has to offer. Established in 1946, the NABC has developed to become the
central point of entry for Dutch business and investment relations in Africa. NABC has a pool of 300+
member companies, and has longstanding partnerships with representative bodies such as FME and
VNO-NCW. NABC is a founding member of the European Business Council for Africa and the
Mediterranean (EBCAM), a network consisting of more than 2500 European companies. NABC goes
beyond the standard African countries. NABC organizes:

1. Trade missions to and from many African countries.
2. Networking events, conferences and knowledge sessions on doing business in Africa.
3. Strategic programs to strengthen the positioning and role of Dutch business in Africa.
4. Customized services, such as position papers, advice and individual matchmaking.

Job Description

As marketing coordinator you will, clearly, be responsible for the marketing of the NABC. Specific

responsibilities include amongst others:
- The control of NABC’s corporate and content website, which you will keep up-to-date with
valuable content, through:
o Scanning for and providing our network with fun, interesting, or important news
articles;
o Research on specific African countries, leading to the writing of so-called white papers;
o Research on rules and regulations in African countries, leading to the writing of “howto’s”
for our network;

- The execution (and possible improvement) of NABC’s marketing plan for 2014 through use of
Google Analytics and so on;

- The control of NABC’s social media; Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook;
o You will provide photos, articles etc for our network (and beyond) - The responsibility for the communication of NABC on external events;
o This includes the development of flyers and presentations and the design of all
marketing tools.

- The shared responsibility for NABC’s internal marketing related issues;
In all activities you work in a team of fun, ambitious and eager professionals, aiming to get maximum
results for our clients.

Qualifications

- Minimum HBO level;
- Business related education, such as international business, is an asset;
- Experience with business and marketing either professionally or through other activities;
- Knowledge of ICT, webdesign, Google Analytics and Google Adwords
- Fluent in Dutch, and English (both written and verbal);
- Affinity with Africa, preferably through experience working and/or living in Africa;
- Structured and precise;
- Able to work independently and self-starter

Additional Information

- Start date: February 2nd. The internship is for a period of six months.
- € 300 per month.
