Tribal Textiles is a vibrant, creative hand-painted textiles Company, based in Mfuwe in Zambia, next door to the South Luangwa National Park. We have a workforce of over 100 and make a range of products varying from cushion covers and tablecloths to bed-throws and handbags. Tribal Textiles products are sold all over the world and in addition to our export and wholesale business we run two busy retail outlets here in Zambia. 


Job Description

Development and implementation of a company Sales and Marketing Strategy, via consultation with the General Manager and Director. 

To strive to improve sales performance for existing wholesale and export clients, working with them to build orders whilst advising on best selection of products to suit their market, taking note of specific requests and bespoke orders, and up-selling whenever possible 

To seek out new markets and customers for wholesale and export orders.

To develop a Marketing Strategy for Tribal Textiles’ new Screen Print range launching in 2015, targeting a more commercial and industry based audience

To develop and run Tribal Textiles’ new online store, selling Tribal products direct to consumers around the world, putting in place systems and management strategies.

To develop an online marketing strategy to promote the new online store as well as wholesale and export businesses, using both social and print media.

To be a point of contact with local lodges encouraging good relations and the stocking in shops and use in Lodges of Tribal Textiles products. 

To provide advice and service to wholesale clients within Zambia and Africa and all Export clients overseas with regard to the merchandising, marketing and selling of Tribal Textiles products.

To deal with all marketing enquiries and maintain a database of contacts, building a rapport with potential customers and strengthening relationships with existing clients.

To develop and maintain all marketing mediums, including; the Tribal Textiles web-site; social media sites, including Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter; marketing material including promotional flyers and documents; company profile and related documents; newsletters and press releases; client price lists etc.

To produce regular Malimba School newsletters and Facebook page updates and be part of a team working towards fundraising for the school.

To work with the Production Manager to ensure that all export and wholesale orders are produced to the required specifications as detailed in the order put together by the Sales and Marketing Manager.

To oversee the timely and efficient delivery of all orders to export and wholesale clients, working with shipping agents, courier companies and transporters to enable this, ensuring that all orders are dispatched with the correct paperwork.

To manage the Sales and Marketing Department, managing all other staff in the department – eg export and online sales assistants. 


Qualifications

We are looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager to join our team in Mfuwe to manage our wholesale and export business and help build our new online sales and screen-print ventures. A Sales and Marketing background and experience working with social media are an advantage but not essential. More important is a positive attitude, good computer and social skills, a sense of fun and the ability to work hard as part of a young dynamic team in a busy and challenging environment. Previous experience living or working in Africa would also be beneficial.
