Xtalic Corporation, a dynamic, growing Boston-area company, develops commercial electrolytic processes that create new metal alloys based on nanotechnology developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). 

We are seeking an energetic, results-oriented Lab Technician to join our research and development team.

This is a hands-on laboratory position, and job responsibilities for the position will include:
•    Support for research and development activities by producing test samples for internal and customer testing.
•    Water-jet cutting of test samples.
•    Cutting and preparing fixtures and samples for test.  Use of tools (Drill press, band saw, etc.) on a daily basis.
•    Mounting and polishing metallographic samples.

The successful candidate will have a combination of the following qualities and experience:

•    3+ years of industry experience, hands-on laboratory experience is a must
•    Associates degree is a plus
•    Hands-on experience with an industrial laboratory environment.
•    Familiarity with cross-section metallography a plus.
•    Familiarity with water jet cutting equipment (OMAX) is preferred.
•    Experience with hand and shop tools for sample fabrication.
•    Ability to work independently as well as in groups
•    Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, etc.

Compensation for this position will be market-competitive.
