Job Description

This is a hands-on laboratory leadership position and job responsibilities for the position will include:
•    Leading process development for electroplating technologies, including definition and validation of preferred operating parameters, chemistry maintenance methods, and plating layer stacks
•    Performing failure analysis and providing troubleshooting support for qualification and production activities
•    Processing sample parts for internal and customer testing, from laboratory sampling efforts to support of pilot production for product qualification
•    Setting own and multi-person experimental work plans, and executing on associated timelines


Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a combination of the following skills and experience:

•  MS or PhD preferred; BS with significant experience
•  5+ years laboratory experience minimum depending upon education
•  Experience leading small to medium size teams of experienced scientists and engineers in successful execution of product development programs
•    Fundamental knowledge of inorganic chemistry, including exposure to industrial chemistries
•    Familiarity with electrochemistry, including potentiostatic, galvanostatic, and RDE techniques
•    Experience with industrial electroplating technologies, preferably including alloy and/or pulse reverse electrodeposition
•    Familiarity with material sample preparation, including setting of appropriate gating standards for customer sampling and qualification efforts
•    Knowledge of materials analysis and analytical chemistry techniques/equipment such as titration, AA, UV/Vis, SEM/EDXS, XRF, etc.
•    Familiarity with materials property characterization of sliding and abrasive wear, hardness, tensile strength, accelerated corrosion testing, electrical property measurement, etc.
•    Ability to work independently as well as in groups
•    Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
