Job Description

Zoltek is looking for a Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to join our team at our Composite Intermediates facility in St. Peters, MO. The Maintenance Technician will perform general mechanical maintenance work on our carbon fiber composites production machinery to maximize efficiency and safety of our operations.

Tasks will include:

  • Troubleshoot production lines and customized machinery/equipment and pilot lines (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.)
  • Build/fabricate equipment, weld structures and parts (MIG)
  • Install, maintain, and repair tools and dies, pumps, motors, drives, ovens, bearings and pipe systems
  • Carry out tasks per our preventive maintenance program
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
  • Document information as required
  • Keep equipment and work area clean, safe and organized.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, Certification or Technical Degree from a college or technical school desired
  • Min. 3 years of experience in plant maintenance in a manufacturing environment required
  • Ability to read/interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Experience with tools & dies a plus (die casting, injection molding, extrusion, etc.)
  • Welding training and experience plus (MIG)
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a safe and ethical work environment
  • Willingness to work as a supporting team member as well as ability to work independently when needed
  • Ability to wear a full face respirator (no full beards) 
  • Computer skills, able to use MS Word, MS Excel, Internet

Additional Information


Work schedule:

12-hour shifts from 6pm to 6am (2 week cycle 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off). Potential for moving to day shift 6am-6pm. Occasional overtime needed.
