Zoltek is looking for QC Technicians to join our team in in our Composite Intermediates facility in St. Peters, MO.  The QC Technicians will be responsible for performing, analyzing and interpreting tests designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. The QC Technicians report to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities will include:

• Perform various tests relating to carbon fiber and composite  products e.g. tensile testing, density determination by floatation method, moisture analysis, sizing level determination, bulk density analysis, thickness and weight measurement, thermal oxidative resistance, and various other carbon fiber composite materials tests
• Analyze results obtained from raw data
• Organize and maintain data files and prepare technical reports and graphs
• Collect test samples from the production floor
• Perform internal quality audits

Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am 

• High school Diploma/GED required, Associate’s Degree preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in Quality Control in laboratory environment utilizing test equipment
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Good math skills, capacity to think through complex processes
• Some mechanical aptitude for minor adjustment and calibrations
• Capabilities to read, understand, and analyze customer specifications
• Ability and willingness to maintain a safe and ethical work environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, wear a respirator

Work Schedule: The Quality Control Technicians work 12-hour shifts. Night shift schedule is 6 pm to 6am, day shift is 6am to 6pm. The work week is alternating 36 or 48 hours (12 hour shifts rotating on a 2 weeks cycle: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off) resulting in 3 day weekends every other week and some built in overtime. Work Environment:  Laboratory in office setting, some work with chemicals, and some exposure to plant environment.
