Brett Queener Board Member

About Brett:

Brett was an executive at two of the fastest growing software companies in history. He spent a decade at salesforce.com where he served in a variety of senior leadership roles in Sales, R&D, and Operations focused on driving the company’s meteoric growth. Prior to salesforce.com, Brett held senior marketing and business development positions at Siebel Systems, which was eventually acquired by Oracle Corporation. Brett also serves as a board member at Invoca and Lytics. Brett has a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard University.


Rajeev Batra Board Member

About Rajeev:

Rajeev Batra is a Partner at Mayfield and invests in Cloud/SaaS, Big Data and Mobile themes. He is an experienced investor and a former software entrepreneur and executive. His current investments include, AgilOne, C9, Marketo (NASDAQ: MKTO), NewsCred, ServiceMax, SmartRecruiters, Viralheat, TrustRadius and WideOrbit. His prior investments include: RedBeacon (acquired by The Home Depot - NYSE: HD in Jan 2012) and Vovici (acquired by Verint - NASDAQ: VRNT in Aug 2011).

Rajeev has held sales, marketing, product and technical roles at Siebel Systems, Scopus Technology and Open Environment Corporation (OEC), which pioneered three-tier computing and service oriented architecture. He was also on the founding team of NetNumina Solutions, an IT consulting firm, which was acquired by Keane.

Prior to joining Mayfield, Rajeev was at Mobius/Softbank Venture Capital, Austin Ventures and American Capital Strategies.

Rajeev received an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a BSEE Honors from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he serves on the Board of Visitors of the A. James Clark School of Engineering.


Matt Gatto Board Member

About Matt:

Matt Gatto joined Insight Venture Partners in 2010. He focuses on high-growth software and SaaS businesses across infrastructure, healthcare and enterprise applications, and also has experience with leveraged buyouts.

Matt has worked with Insight's investments in AirWatch, Cherwell Software, Kinnser Software, Shopify and Zumba Fitness, and works with a number of other infrastructure and software/SaaS portfolio companies.

Matt's career experience prior to Insight includes online advertising optimization at Verizon Information Services, debt restructuring and issuance at Deutsche Bank Asia, and electronic communications risk management at Merrill Lynch.

Matt graduated with high honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School. Matt’s personal interests include golf and most other sports, the outdoors, trying new foods and craft brews, and travel.


Doug Schrier Board Member

About Doug:

Doug joined Rembrandt Venture Partners in 2001 as a General Partner. Prior to that, Doug was a Senior Partner at Argo Global Capital in Boston from 2001 to late 2006. Doug has been involved in funding, managing, and developing over 25 technology companies for over the last 20 years. His prior experience includes being SVP for Acquisitions and Strategic Ventures at SAIC, a Fortune 250 company in La Jolla, CA.

Doug currently sits on the boards of Allegiance, Electric Cloud, Proximetry, Coveroo, SmartRecruiters, LiveRamp and Needle. Also, Doug currently mentors through Columbia's Private Equity Mentorship Program.

Doug received his MBA from Columbia Business School in 1990 and his undergraduate degree in Economics/Pre-Med from DePauw University in 1987.

Sarah is responsible for our people strategy. Sarah has been leading talent acquisition and people functions for organizations both in Canada and internationally for the past ten years and has a track record of delivering unconventional, business-first programs that drive performance, engagement, and innovation.


Rebecca Carr Global Success, Consulting & Strategy

About Rebecca:

As a veteran recruiter and HR product leader, Rebecca leads Global Success, Consulting & Strategy at SmartRecruiters. Her organizations are responsible for global customer & hiring success, research & content, pre-sales solutions consulting, proposal management, implementation, technical services & consulting, and support & marketplace services. Prior to this role, Rebecca ran the Product & Design teams at SmartRecruiters and spent two years at Jobvite leading enterprise renewals as the Director of Strategic Accounts & Senior Product Manager focusing on APIs & Reporting modules. Prior to Jobvite, Carr held both product and operational positions BranchOut, one of the world’s largest professional networks on Facebook, and at Playdom, which was acquired by Disney Interactive Media Group in 2010. Rebecca holds her degree from the University of California – Berkeley.


Charlie Nelson Revenue Operations

About Charlie:

A veteran of selling to and making human resource and recruiting professionals successful, Charlie is responsible for all aspects of worldwide Revenue Operations; including GTM & distribution strategy, performance optimization, and business insights. Prior to joining SmartRecruiters, Charlie drove enterprise and insides sales at Identified, which was acquired by Workday in 2014. Prior to Identified, Charlie was one of the first sales reps at Simply Hired. Charlie earned his BA from the University of Washington (go Huskies!).


Rafal Szczepanski Engineering

About Rafal:

Rafal has led the Engineering team from the first days of SmartRecruiters and was part of the founding team. He is a veteran software developer who has been building recruiting solutions for nearly a decade, transitioning from corporate to consumer SaaS software. Prior to SmartRecruiters he worked at MrTed (currently Lumesse). Rafal has a MSc in Computer Science from Technical University of Lodz.


Ania Ziebicka Finance

About Ania:

Ania is responsible for all aspects of finance, admin, HR and facilities across the company. She started her professional career with nine years as a financial auditor at KPMG followed by Finance Manager and Controller for different industries. She gained five years SaaS experience at MrTed, acquired in 2010 by Stepstone Solutions (currently Lumesse). Prior joining SmartRecruiters Ania was leading the Finance Department of PerkinElmer SSC in Krakow, responsible for full statutory and US GAAP financial reporting for over 30 European entities. Ania earned her MA in Economics from the University of Economics in Krakow (Poland) and holds a Fellow of ACCA title (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).


Bob Memmer North America Sales

About Bob:

Bob runs North America Sales at SmartRecruiters. Prior to SmartRecruiters, Bob ran sales and customer success at Captora where he delivered triple digit revenue growth. Before that, Bob was Area Vice President of Sales at Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) where he drove revenue strategy for the commercial sales team within the data.com platform. Bob came to Salesforce with the acquisition of Jigsaw in 2010 (175M) where he joined pre-revenue and delivered several years of triple digit growth as Vice President of Sales. Bob has a BA from Purdue University.


Robert Symons Northern European Sales

About Robert:

An HCM cloud software evangelist. Passionate about helping companies transform the way they engage, hire and retain top talent. 22 years’ experience within the recruiting marketplace. Previously spent 9 years scaling an HCM software business from 11 employees to over 700 employees as part of their senior leadership team. In 2016, joined SmartRecruiters as the first sales and marketing hire in Europe with responsibility for UK/Northern Europe.


Eric Gellé Southern and Western European Sales

About Eric:

Eric is responsible for revenue and growth for Southern and Western Europe at SmartRecruiters — including Sales, Service, Support and Customer Success. Prior to joining SmartRecruiters, Eric led sales teams at software vendors such as Oracle, Lumesse, and Avature, focusing on annual recurring revenue growth and customer satisfaction. He is passionate about how HR technology and innovation can help companies achieve their goals.


Robin Haak Global Strategy

About Robin:

Robin is a serial entrepreneur, internet executive, investor and tech enthusiast. His experience, includes general management corporate development, business operations, marketing, communications, and strategy for small to mid-size organizations.

Currently the SVP, Global Strategy at SmartRecruiters, a Talent Acquisition Suite which connects people to jobs at scale, and Co-Founder of Wo\men Inc., a global leading platform that supports career-focused women build meaningful professional networks.

Prior to SmartRecruiters, he co-founded and served as COO of Jobspotting, a personal recommendation engine for job seekers to discover and track new opportunities, where he oversaw finance, sales, & marketing, and guided the company to profitability while scaling across 12 countries and over three million users.

Robin is also an investor for Haak & Compagnie with several seed investments. Prior to Jobspotting, Robin co-founded the Berlin-based Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator and invested in over 40 international companies. He managed investments from the follow-up fund, the portfolio, and operations of the accelerator. He also worked in M&A in the Marketing & Classifieds Division and in Digital Ventures at Axel Springer SE, Europe's leading digital publisher.


Prachi Gore Marketing

About Prachi:

Prachi is responsible for Marketing and building our demand generation machine used to generate pipeline that fuels SmartRecruiters' rapid growth. Prachi has been building demand for the last 10 years and has worked with innovative brands to build teams, scale demand generation operations, and create awareness in unestablished markets.


Dave Carter President

About Dave:

Dave joined as President to help execute on the mission of providing the only full Talent Acquisition Suite that actually drives hiring success.

Prior to joining SmartRecruiters, Dave led high-performing sales teams for HR services and software companies including Cornerstone, Accenture, Ceridian, and ProBusiness.

Carter also served as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant.

Dave holds a BA Economics from Clark University.


Valerie Bertrand Head of Legal

About Valerie:

Valérie Bertrand is the Head of Legal of SmartRecruiters. Valérie has an experience of 20 years as a business lawyer. Prior to SmartRecruiters, she headed the Legal Department of Lumesse (provider of SaaS talent management and talent acquisition solutions provider). Before that, she was in-house counsel for StepStone (job board). Valérie has a Master's degree in business law, a MBA in business law and management (France) and a Master of Laws, LL.M., German law (Berlin).


Christian Grimm DACH Sales

About Christian:

Christian Grimm is a veteran of recruitment technology within consulting, product management & sales, having spent 11 years at Lumesse and many years before in the HR/IT industry space. Since 2019 Christian is the VP DACH at SmartRecruiters. Christian brings extensive experience in SaaS sales, talent acquisition & talent management technology, and HR process management to SmartRecruiters.
