Mobile Development Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and motivated development lead to join our Mobile Development team. We have award-winning IOS and Android apps that make DNA and family history more convenient, captivating, and compelling than ever before. Our apps impact millions of users in deep meaningful ways daily. We are rapidly expanding our Mobile team and are searching for ambitious leaders to assist and guide in building our next-generation mobile applications utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and development environments.

What you'll do:

  • Provide technical leadership to your team for both iOS and Android (also identifying opportunities for technical advancements and own their delivery)
  • Work on development efforts towards successful feature delivery for the personalization efforts.
  • Maintain high standards for software quality by establishing good practices and habits and automated checks.
  • Collaborate with software developers, marketing team, product owners, architect to plan, design, develop and test applications.
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application or solution related issues.
  • Research and evaluate software products that might fit the needs of the solution better (eg. if emerging technologies can improve on performance or scaling etc)

Qualifications

  • 5 years prior iOS or Android development experience
  • 2 years of direct management experience required
  • Bachelor's in computer science degree (or related discipline) required (master's preferred)

Core Competencies:

  • Senior experience on iOS or Android platform
  • Apps in the App Store or Google Play Store
  • Continuous deploy and integration tools like Jenkins
  • Designing and developing enterprise grade software in fast-paced distributed environments (highly scalable, reliable, available)
  • Agile methodologies
  • Debugging, performance profiling and optimization
  • Strong inclination towards improving solutions and/or surrounding processes
  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Architecture experience MVP, VIPER, or MVVM

Preferred Competencies:

  • Micro services based architecture (RESTful)
  • Continuous deploy and integration tools like Jenkins
  • Experience with both iOS and Android platform
  • MBA
