Job Description

Ancestry’s FP&A organization is looking for a senior financial analyst to join the team. The position will be responsible for a wide range of projects in support of business decisions and management reporting requirements for Senior Management within the global marketing organization. In this role, you will analyze financial data, compile reports and prepare recommendations to management. You will participate in developing forecasts, creating budget comparisons and other financial reports. The key candidate will have well-established financial modeling skills, a firm understanding of finance and accounting concepts, superb analytical abilities and excellent business partnering skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Communicate financial and accounting information and trends to the management team to ensure that real-time business decisions can be made based on sound financial data
  • Business partner with senior management to achieve business unit goals
  • Provide financial analysis that is necessary to drive growth and operational efficiencies including; month end processing, management review of budget vs. actual results and trend analysis
  • Partner with accounting to ensure that expenses are recorded accurately
  • Drive continual process improvements
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required

Qualifications

  • BS required (Finance or Accounting emphasis preferred)
  • 4+ years of FP&A, financial analysis, and forecasting experience
  • Experience with internet, technology, and/or content driven companies preferred
  • Experience with IBM Planning Analytics TM1 or comparable technology preferred
  • Experience with capital expenditure forecasting preferred
  • Experience business partnering with senior management preferred
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytic and accounting skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines with high attention to detail
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
